Outstanding boat shoes and probably the best under $100 (even compared to higher end brands like Allen Edmonds). These are my 2nd pair. The originals were 6 years old and were made in US. These are now made in Dominican Rep. but the quality is the same (no chinese crap here and I applaud Timberlands for not 'chinarizing' this shoes which a lot of brands do now..even boat shoes in the $200 range.Pluses:- The quality/stitching is very well done and the leather is US sourced (which a lot of people dont know). Use mink oil ...let it sit outside in the sun for a few hours , then wipe off the access. The leather will get a rich moist look which also helps in sealing it.- Unlike most boat shoes, the heel has good grip/traction so this will handle rough terrain as well, as long as casual environments.- High end look with brass hardware.- Leather laces (a lot of boat shoes don't use leather laces).- Boat shoes that can last (if u oil it often after usage).Minuses:- Like all timberlands, these run 1/2 large (I typically wear 9 in sneakers and ordered this in 8.5. Little snug for few days but after oiling it, it broke in just fine. (this is not really a minus, however).- 1" rubber heel may not be the preference for some people in a boat shoes. Personally, for me, I like that extra added support but whatever floats your goat.Others:I just came from a 7 day island trip/vacation and only took 2 pairs..my english dress boots and these Timberlands. I fished, hiked, went boating and did tons of walking in the islands/towns/villages and never did I wish I had brought another pair instead. I got several compliments as well from random people. For our fishing trip, we were in a coral reef so I didn't take these off and these were fully submerged in knee deep ocean water for hours. I came back yesterday and washed these. Then applied mink oil. Good as new.Hoping these will last like my original pair .

True fit
Was concerned about whether or not the size would be true. Sometimes things can either fit smaller or bigger than the actual number you requested. In this case it was a true fit. Great quality, and I was pleased with the purchase.

My Very Best All-Around Shoes
These Timberland classic shoes are the best all-around shoe purchase I've made in years. They go great with jeans, casual dress slacks, and are great commuter shoes. Trust me, these shoes are genuinely TOUGH, durable and very-very comfortable to wear for hours — perfect for every kind of city or country terrain, rain, snow or shine. I like them so much, I keep my set of wooden shoe trees in them to maintain the shape, and help the leather breathe better. These are my perfect walk and wear anywhere-anytime shoes. I'm now going to buy a black pair for certain. Yes, they do wear and work very well on slippery boats and at the beach too. These Timberlands aren't your usual disposable shoes. Spend a little now, and get your money's worth in long comfortable wear.

Reunited with an old friend...
Like a lot of guys my age, I had two pairs that lasted me from the mid '80s through the '90s then seemed to have forgotten about them due to them being scarce and out of favor for a while. Here lately, all the young hipsters are into "heritage" brands and guys my age might be getting nostalgic -so I'm seeing a lot of boat shoes again. I almost call these camp mocs due to the third eyelet and vibram sole. The leather is fantastic and workmanship seems top notch. Made in the Dominican Republic. I'm not crazy about the deep lug sole, but it is practical for more scenarios than a true boat shoe sole. It's a little heavier than need be and I don't recall if my former pairs didn't have a shallower lug? I'd give one more star if they were a less aggressive lug. The insoles are not deeply padded but seem to be molding to my feet comfortably. Tanning process imparts a lot of oil and it's easy to rub scratches out of the leather. Lining feels good with bare feet. I found them to be a tad long in size 11EE. I returned and went with a 10.5 and went from EE down to D after trying on a pair of the "earthkeeper kaiwah bay made in China boat shoes" that were quite roomy. Unfortunately, the made in Dominican Republic is built narrower -so I'm in for a little bit of a stretching process. Close, but a little snug. If I went with the EE width I would have been sliding around inside a bit much, especially on the rare occasions I'd wear barefoot with shorts. (I wish they made an E width). I like the three-eye design as socks don't show too much as with two-eye topsiders. Makes these a better shoe for fall and winter & year 'round use. I'd have a second pair in EE if I was to wear with heavy socks in cooler climates. Then I'd be truly set.

Love the shoes but...
I've worn these shoes for several decades and love them. The problem I'm having is actually not with the shoes but with the order fulfillment process. I order the shoes, I get the shoes, but they're never the right size - I order the w i d e size, which for some reason, I have to keep sending back and then reordering only to have to send them back again. Customer service is great but I can't imagine anyone makes a dime off the shoes I order.

Perfect!
Great quality - love them. I purchased many Timberland shoes in the past (whole family wears them), and had rarely problems with them. Once 2 years ago I had problems with some shoes, but no problem. Got my money back, and in the meanwhile the problem was appearently solved by Timberland.Anyway, buy them, they are worth the money. For international buyers: Check the size printed inside the shoes, this is always the original US size, all over the world. And for europe a hint: Always buy: UE, which is WIDE. M would be too small for European feet! ;-)Btw: Price here would have been 165 Euro, via Amazon I paid 85 Euro shipping & tax included. PERFECT! :)
