LA-CO 44080 Slic-Tite PTFE Pipe Thread Tape, Premium Grade [300" Length, 1/4" Wide], Pink

Used this LA-CO yellow gas line tape with AstroAl closed flow chuck and the Milton 1/4” NPT tank valve on a Dewalt DCC020I 20v air compressor and love it. The screw on/off connector of the Dewalt is awesome and will last longer. But for the airbags on the back of my truck screwing it off would drop the PSI a few and I was getting tired of that. I used the closed flow AstroAl chuck and I’m happy with that. With the chuck not on a valve stem, if I turn the compressor on it’ll build to the set PSI fast and stop. Holds are tight, no leaks with the gas line tape used. So after filling my tires and airbags I clip it right off. Perfect. Only down side is I then press the chuck stem against the screw of my rock tamer mud flaps to release the air from the Dewalt line, because this tape with the quality products means it’ll hold that air forever and be under pressure. Which I am happy with because the seal this made is air tight. A buddy and I put Firestone ride right airbags on his truck a few days ago, and he loved my Dewalt air compressor (he has tons of dewalt 20v stuff already and got me turned to Dewalt). So when he gets his I’ll be giving him This tape, the second AstroAl air chuck, and second Milton 1/4” NPT tank valve.

This tape is a lot better than the cheap white tape you can get for air/water. I used it for a propane splitter on my camper, and have not had a single leak ( yet ) The tape is a lot thicker feeling than a lot of the others I have used. Works great for what I needed, and at a good price, can't beat the free prime shipping as well.

This is the right stuff to use when pipes carry anything other than water

If you work with threaded fittings that must contain pressure, you have to have a tape to seal the threads. This tape is as useable as the cheap PTFE you pick up just about anywhere but it is more durable. I recently got an inflator for my nitrogen tire inflation system and it leaked badly. This tape fixed it properly. This stuff is something you should always have on hand. Usually, the tape is easy to apply though sometimes the brush-on sealants are easier for smaller parts but in some of the reviews for related products reviewers claimed that the seal would occasionally fail. Also, if you have only an occasional need to seal threads, the tape seems like it will always work whereas the I wondered what the brush-on's might be like after several years on the shelf. The roll is 260" long which is enough for quite a few connections. The picture of this tape is misleading. You only get one roll of tape, not two.

Bet that there's people out there that just like myself . Not think much about it and use the white Teflon tape . Yeah, didn't happen often but It happened. I would use pipe dope mostly and what a mess that stuff can become. then the warning brought to my attention about gas and the white Teflon tape deal. That is when I found out about the yellow tape. Glad to have it around .

Best tape of your life! What have you been waiting for? Buy this tape now! Just thing of all the gas lines you could seal with this! You should always carry some in your pocket...Imagine you are out and smell gas, you can jump in with this tape, seal it up, and save some lives! I don't smell gas anymore.

I have read other reviews complaining about the thickness of this tape and it not sealing leaks. All I can say is, those people are either stupid or received the wrong product. This stuff is thick, especially compared to regular teflon tape. I am a HVAC technician with a mechanical background. This tape works well and I have sealed many gas connections with it to date.

Got this for my gas line for my 8n tractor. I use it on all fittings now. It will hold up to gasoline, motor oil and hydraulic fluid. And, great for pneumatic tools!

Some tips: Wrap tape tightly around threads once. Overlap the ends and pull to break off. Perfect seal. I am very happy.

works great , no issues for single jobs. Ill prob never need to use this again but it worked out great.

Prevents leaks on threads that have minimal gaske Gasoline proof will not dissolve.
