Vital Proteins Grass Fed Beef Liver Capsules, Desiccated Liver Supplement, 750mg Liver Pills, 120 Count

I love a grilled beef liver, but good quality beef organ meat is hard to find and it's not something I get to eat regularly. So I decided to get the beef liver benefits through this supplement from Vital Proteins, since it's bone of the few using grass fed beef. I'm already a constant user of their beef gelatin, so I expected these to be top quality as well. I can't say necessarily I noticed a big impact while taking these beef liver capsule. I'm healthy, in my early 30s and I have a quite healthy diet, focused on whole unprocessed foods. Besides the overall nutrient density of liver, the main benefits for me are from the extra Vitamin A and B12 supplementation. Having a Vitamin A supplement mainly helps my eye health; they get less tired during the day and somewhat less dry. Along with Zinc (from other supplement), it helps with my dry skin as well (I get fewer eczema patches). Vitamin B12 gives me a little boost of energy. Maybe these supplements helped a little with hair loss, but without really expecting it I noticed my skin was having less breakouts after the first 4-6 weeks. But the impact is rather small, it's a supplement I can easily live without. I do like they keep it simple, just the beef liver and the gelatin capsules. They're expensive, but the top quality ingredients justify the price; other similar supplements don't use grass fed beef and keep the price lower by mixing the liver powder with low quality fillers. The pills are on the larger side. I usually have no issues with taking pills, I pop 2-3 at the same time; but with these I had to be very careful, take one at a time with plenty of water, make sure each one goes down completely. They don't smell like beef liver as much as I expected. Off course, if you open them there's a clear liver scent; but I can barely notice it when I'm taking them. The pills never gave me stomach issues or reflux, but I usually take them with food. I like that the dosage is spread across multiple pills, as one can adjust the actual serving size. I'm a small healthy woman and I don't see extra benefits from taking 4 capsules, for me 2 are enough for optimal results.

I have been using these for a while and they always make me feel more energized when I am taking them as recommended. They don’t have a strong taste and seem to break down fine.

I liked the formula and the ratings. A key reason I picked this brand is because I know it and trust it. The only thing I don’t like about this is the size of the capsules. I saw that the dose was 4 and I like that. What I failed to think about was how big those capsules were. They are hard to take for me. I end up needing almost a full glass of water just to coax them down the hatch! 😆 I have a hard time with taking capsules so it may be a non issue for someone else but I might actually consider a different brand next time even if there are more pills to take.

My functional nutritionist recommended that I take these. I have been doing so for a few years and find them to be of the best quality that I have tried.

I purchased the beef liver vitamins because of it having so many health benefits. I have never eaten liver so i do not really know if i like it or not, but the problem is just seeing it makes me think ooohh yuck. So, until i can get over the looks of it, i will not be trying it any time soon. So this is where this lovely little pill comes in, i have no problem with popping this in pill form because i would like to get the benefits of the real thing and this sounds like a great option. They are easy to swallow, just take 2 - 2x a day and you are good to go. I have had some liver issues and have read that if you eat what ails you that it can help you, so i am giving it a try. Plus the added benefits of eating liver for your health in general is a big plus, liver contains some great vitamins. These are made from grass fed, pasture raised beef in New Zealand so they have to be good and i'm sure they were really happy cows being out in the field. I’ve been taking these more to help balance hormones and I think it’s been working! I can feel my mood and overall energy levels improving. As a side note, I already had healthy hair but since I’ve been taking these, my hair seems much healthier and softer so that’s nice too! I’ve also been taking collagen as well so I’m sure that’s assisting matters and it’s not just the pills. They are very difficult for me to swallow though but with much concentration, I can get them down lol
