An excellent value.
This is an outstanding knife!I love knives; I have a lot of knives, predominantly "tactical" or EDC types, but I have maybe half a dozen traditional knives, like this one. I mention this to reveal the view point from which I am reviewing this knife. The blade. The buying decision for me was the VG-10 blade; a step up from 440-C. The blade is 0.115 inch thick, which is thick-ish for a knife of this size, but certainly not out of proportion; I like it a lot. My personal preferences make me enthusiastic about the blade profile; the cutting edge is curved just enough to be almost ideal for a variety of different cutting tasks.Additionally, the spine of the blade curves sharply downwards at the tip, forming a very well supported, and therefore strong tip. If your cutting task requires poking things, you can do so with less concern of snapping off the tip than you might with other blade profiles. Finally, I can say without hyperbole that this blade is *eminently sharp*; it is one of the sharpest factory edges that I have ever unboxed!o. The handle. The scales are some very attractive specimens of real carbon fiber, and are solid slabs; not a veneer. This carbon fiber is finished in manner that is not polished, but neither is it rough, and it is not as slippery as I had expected. The liners are surprisingly thick steel, making for a very stiff blade housing. Even though the knife is relatively small when closed, it has a high blade to handle ratio; that is, there is a lot of blade for its size. The edges of the blade pocket are sharper than I would like, and your fingers can feel this when you use it. The edges aren't going to cut me, but it feels a tiny bit odd to me.o. Fit. The knife opens very easily, yet the lockup is solid. My specimen has the tiniest amount of side-to-side movement if I grab the blade and forcefully move it back and forth. My experience has been that all folders that are put together with pins exhibit this kind of movement. As I said, the movement is tiny, and is as minimal of the best in my collection.o. Summary, I will be carrying this knife often. The knife is attractive and non-threatening, so it is useful in any setting. To top it off, it is quite a value; when I bought mine it was about USD $33, but as soon as I held it, I would have expected to pay $45 ~ $55, and it would likely be less than 1/2 the price of the equivalent Buck model.

Excellently made, outstanding value.
I just received it and I’m very impressed with the build quality. It’s arm shaving sharp out of the box, you can’t do better than that.I have the hardness testing files and even a 65hrc file doesn’t leave mark on the blade. So we’re talking some seriously hard steel after heat treatment. It is worth noting that when I cross checked this against manufacturing heat treatment datasheets the highest indicated hrc is 62 with no tempering. So I’m probably doing some user error in my hardness estimate technique unless it’s either not vg10 or there’s some secret way to quench vg10 to greater than documented hardness.Either way, definitely a high hardness steel, shape out of the box, I’m a huge fan of sheep’s foot style blade geometry so this blade at its current price of 35 dollars is a crazy good value. I also like how the blade has the sortah saber style blade geometry which can help with toughness

Nice little knife
I like this thing. I'd have loved to have this when I was a 10 year old out whittling in the cattails. It's a little small for my hands now, and the edges aren't chamfered, so it does catch your skin a bit. Far and away better quality than the cheap magazine knives I grew up with though. Also makes a good church knife, something you can take out to slice a summer sausage without scaring people too much.

Great Knife for the Price
Solid build quality, carbon fiber scales, and a traditional lock back design. The sample I received is better quality than other more expensive knives I have purchased. Can't beat it for the money. The blade is a little over 2.5" so it is not too big or intimidating to others and it fits nicely in your pocket. Like another reviewer commented, the edges of the bolsters are almost sharp, but they should soften/wear over time. You could also hit them with a bit of fine emory cloth or sandpaper if you liked. If you are on the edge of buying this knife, just pull the trigger and buy it. You won't regret it.

Awesome knife for the money
This is a really great knife for the money. From the photos, I thought it was a spear point but in hand it’s really more of a modified wharncliffe with a swage. I’ve attached additional photos for comparison. All the fit and finish is really good. Matches up well and smooth at all joints. There are sharp edges on the bolsters that I may give a little melt treatment to later. VG-10 blade is sharp and nearly centered perfectly. And it’s THICK. A full 3mm thick. I haven’t bought a lockback knife since the 1980’s but am pretty impressed with this one. Very solid lock up and then easy to unlock. Ironically, I bought another knife at the same time which cost three times more money and I’m returning the more expensive knife because there is a noticeable gap between the scale and frame. More money doesn’t always get you better quality I’m going to order another Brother Knife this evening. Thinking either this same style in bone or the micarta slip joint. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Looks good, but a few concerns
The knife looks and feels great, I'm very happy with the materials it was produced with and the blade is very sharp, my only concern about this knife is the lockback doesn't seem to secure the blade all that well there's a lot of side to side and up and down blade play.
