## Description

Kotobuki Plastic Egg Mold, Rabbit and Bear

Review: Up your lunch game!!! - Am I an adult? Yes. Do I still absolutely LOVE this??? Also yes. The molds worked perfectly. This is my new obsession, my friends will all hear about this. The molds themselves are so cute, the eggs turn out so cute. These would make an adorable gift. I don't know how durable they are, but they seem pretty good quality.
Review: Large Eggs are great for these particular molds-and consider BAKING instead of BOILING. - This is the same review I posted for the heart/star mold combo, because the formula is the same...the size of the egg you need however, differs from mold to mold-I learned the hard way. I had XL eggs which worked GREAT for the heart & star...but for these it created a "smooshy" issue! The "customer pictures" posted are very accurate to the results you'll get...however, learn from the mistakes from others before you jump into it or you'll be disappointed and/or very irritated. These are SUCH a cute, sturdy & simple product. My first mistake: I tried to do 18 eggs with 4 molds...not happening. They must be HOT when you put them in the mold...then you shock them in ice water for at least 10 minutes to set up...So doing 4 at a time left me with a problem. Second: EVERYONE and their brother has a technique. You should read, watch and try all of them, and figure out which one works best for YOU. Think about your comfort zone and your kitchen, tools, etc. beforehand. Don't assume you have to do it ONE certain way. Settle in with some blogs and You-Tube videos, there's plenty out there! I've personally found that BAKING the eggs (350 for 30 min) automatically separates the shell & the inner membrane from the egg while cooking. When you take them out, these eggs peel like nothing I've ever seen. The caveat(you know there has to be one), the baking process leaves brown spots from the oven on some of the eggs. Well have no fear, the internet is here! The solution: Food Coloring in the water! (Again-so simple) Now you have green and pink and blue and any color you want...cute, attractive to your kids, and it's still a natural & healthy snack.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy steps with cute result
*by X***C on May 18, 2013*

I recently bought six different cute egg molds (these two, a star, heart, car, and fish). I tried them all a few times, and they work great. I would recommend using extra large eggs to get the best looking eggs. I tried large, and they turned out well but the extra large looked better. The bunny works better than the bear since it's already in an egg-like shape, but they still look cute in the end. Easy steps to use. Simply boil your egg(s) first. The egg does not have to be out-of-the-boiling-water hot when you peel it. Pour out the hot water and quickly fill the container/pot with cool water before pouring it out (or just refill with warm water after you pour out the cool water). You can then touch the eggs without burning yourself, but they will still be warm to the touch. You should wet the molds beforehand so the eggs don't stick to the mold when you take them out. I wouldn't recommend putting an egg you've dried off in one. Make sure the egg is still wet, too. Toss the molds with eggs into a bowl of ice water for 10-15 minutes and tada! Cute molded eggs! For extra large eggs, you will probably have to trim off the edges. Just know that not all of the eggs will turn out perfectly, but all of mine have so far. I then cut them in half and put them in a bowl of ramen for a cute, quick meal. I would recommend these. They're cheap and easy to clean, and if you have kids, I'm sure they would love them!
