When I turned 40, my scalp ( along with my skin) started getting very dry, and I started seeing a few flakes- especially during the winter. I never had dandruff before, but my teen and his dad both deal with varying degrees of it and need to use an anti-dandruff shampoo. I used to buy them Head and Shoulders and forget they it, but now that I also need anti-dandruff shampoo, I began to look for something that we all could use. I have long, highlighted hair and get occasional winter flakes. I can go weeks without needing anti-dandruff shampoo. My son has thick, chin length hair that gets greasy by the next day and needs to use anti-dandruff shampoo every wash, which is usually daily. His dad has short, fine hair and needs to use an anti-dandruff shampoo at least once or twice a week. Short of creating an algorithm to match us with the best shampoo, it took a lot of trial and error to figure out which one works for all of us. Fast-forward 3 years and I’ve tried a lot of the well known anti-dandruff shampoos and have some notes. I really don’t like the medicated-smelling ones, and my favorite Head & Shoulders Royal Oil isn’t the most effective for serious flakes. I’ve been looking for the one that works like medicine but in the guise of a smoothing shampoo that doesn’t dry out my hair. Scalp Sync is actually working out better than I expected! It contains 1% pyrithione zinc, which effectively controls dandruff without feeling like a harsh medicated shampoo. It lathers well, rinses clean, and leaves our scalps feeling fresh and flake-free. Also, it smells amazing! It definitely reminds me Biolage’s Hydra Source, but it’s not quite the same. Scalp Sync is also not as hydrating as Hydra Source or Ultra Hydra. It’s actually slightly drying (for me) and I can’t use it unless I pair it with a very deep conditioner. It’s 100% fine for both my son and his dad. They both prefer using it to Head & Shoulders. I think a good double cleanse also keeps my son’s head from looking greasy longer. Overall, I’m pleased with this shampoo. I do think H&S Supreme and Oil are more hydrating, and better suited for hair like mine- but this one takes care of flakes better. I also like the option of buying a bigger bottle. The 33oz lasts forever and I can add a pump, which makes it much easier to dispense.

I had to repurchase the shampoo because I ran out of the last one but I specifically bought the anti-dandruff version because I was experiencing an itchy scalp and dandruff, and it has helped tremendously. Within about 3 weeks, the itchiness and irritation were completely gone, and I noticed far less dandruff. My scalp feels calm and healthy again, and my hair looks smoother and more vibrant. I also chose this because my hair stylist always reminds me that professional hair care products are key if you want undamaged, healthy hair - and Biolage absolutely delivers. The formula feels luxurious, and I love that it's paraben free and vegan. If you're struggling with flakes or scalp irritation, this is worth every penny. It's gentle, effective, and truly salon-quality. I won't use anything else.

I wanted to wait a few weeks before reviewing because I have purchased TOO MANY shampoos claiming to help with dry scalp and dandruff, but I’m here to say that this shampoo was life changing. It’s been 3 weeks since I purchased it and my scalp has never felt so clean, moisturized, free of irritation and redness! the dandruff is practically gone!!😭 I was suffering before I purchased this and wow the difference this made is crazy! You must try it!

This shampoo is amazing! It works quickly to soothe dry itchy scalp and to treat the dandruff without the horrible smell or damaging my color treated hair. I am very impressed how smooth it feels in my hair so unordinary like other dandruff shampoo’s that feel and smell like you applied flea shampoo on your head. This shampoo is the total opposite and what has really amazed me is that it has made my hair softer and shiner. I have long thick colored hair and I always use salon hair products— nothing over the counter. So I am very happy that this dandruff shampoo totally complimented my other hair products and it did not strip away my hair color while treating my dandruff and repairing my scalp. I have an autoimmune disorder so my skin is always under attack of being too dry. I made the horrible mistake of using a salon product that was supposed to rejuvenate my scalp but instead it was too strong that it dried out my scalp and caused me to have heavy dandruff. The dandruff was so bad that other dandruff shampoos I tried to use did not work. Thankfully, I decided to look on Amazon for women’s dandruff shampoo and came across good reviews for this product and I bought a small bottle to try it — what a game changer! I washed and rinsed my hair with my regular salon shampoo and then I applied the dandruff shampoo and let it set in my hair for a few minutes until I felt that tingle in my scalp that it was calming my itchy scalp down because my scalp felt like it was on fire! Then, I rinsed and applied my hair conditioner, set and then rinsed and I could instantly feel how clean my hair and scalp felt. My scalp was in bad shape because of the damage I caused by using the exfoliating hair treatment so it took me five usages of this dandruff shampoo to get my scalp back to normal AND to eliminate the white flakes! Such a relief to be rid of the white flakes because I wear a lot of dark colored clothes so I was embarrassed to have dandruff noticeable on my clothes and in my hair. I am so happy I tried this product because it helped me to get my hair back to normal! I highly recommend this amazing hair product. It is so silky and smooth yet tough enough to knock out hard core dandruff!

I do not have dandruff but a very itchy scalp . With in a week the dryness and itchiness is resolved. Leaves hair soft and silky . Smells great .

This is the best shampoo that I have used before! I struggled with dandruff and oily scalp and nothing would help. I tried several shampoos, and this is the best. I paired it with the Biolage Scalp Sync Purifying Concentrate and my scalp is back to normal! I highly recommend. It is not too heavy and does not weigh down the hair and removes greasiness. It is a great value and is often on sale. The texture is nice and lathers well, however it does not foam in the hair, so it can be easy to use too much. The color is white, and it lasts a long time! I am very grateful for this product because my hair is back to normal after months of struggling with it!

This is one of the few shampoos that actually delivers on its promise to stop the itch. I’ve tried plenty of anti-dandruff brands, but Biolage leaves my hair feeling clean and soft rather than "stripped" or straw-like. The minty scent is very refreshing and not overpowering. It effectively cleared up my dandruff within just a few washes, and my scalp feels much more balanced now. It’s a bit more expensive than standard brands, but you don't need much to get a good lather, so the bottle lasts a long time. Highly recommend if you want to solve scalp issues without sacrificing the health of your hair.

Excellent for people with psoriasis (I'm the sufferer but my partner is a 20+ year hair dresser and teacher). I can honestly say scalpsync works as a scalp moisturiser which reduces flaking without stripping the scalp. It's like using a cream on the head without the grease of other moisturisers.

Very effective initially but highly doubt its original after less than a month the flakes were back and no matter how often you shampoo it didn't go. Return window had closed so couldn't even return it.
