Great family read for many age groups.
I am very pleased with this book. It was a great buy. We are a family with 5 boys, two of which are playing baseball for the first time this year. This book features beautiful attention holding art, rhyming text that is short and sweet, and several different options for read aloud time. On each page the letter is featured prominently in two different sections. You can also read the longer text that is on each page if you are reading to older kids, but I think it is best for kids who are reading independently. It features artwork that shows people of different races, and both boys and girls enjoying the sport of baseball.

An Awesome Book!
This is an excellent book, and it is more educational than I thought it would be.On each page, is a different letter of the alphabet (from A to Z), and it goes with a baseball related word and they put it into a nice little rhyme of a few lines. On the side of the page, there is a great paragraph detailing the subject, and other topics related. So, you basically have two choices to get through the book. On nights we are tired and just want a short story, I just go through with the simple rhymes and letters. On other nights, or during the day, it's fun to get more of an education and read the details on the side. Even the parents can learn things from this book!

Perfect for many ages and levels of interest.
The artwork in this book are really great. We love reading the short rhyming descriptions of each letter with our 2-year-old and know he will grow into the longer additional text on each page. We'll enjoy this book as a family for years to come.

Great book!
I bought this for my baseball-loving grandson. Artwork is terrific. Right now, he is learning the alphabet and so I just read the short poems. Later, I look forward to sharing the more detailed information with him. He also has "P Is For Putt."

Great for All Ages
This is the BEST book for baseball lovers of all ages! I bought this for myself and found it so delightful I bought more to give as gifts. My 85-year old mother-in-law found this just as delightful as I did. It's filled with information suitable for children; however, even my very baseball-savvy husband found some new bit of information. Mr. Herzog did a spectacular job with this one!

Cute book but in terrible shape. First time opening the book the pages fell out.

Great book, but with errors
My son and I love this book. It is surely one of our favorites. That said, there are a couple of errors in the text.First of all, the "Z" entry is about a scoreboard being all zeroes. It goes on: "...a rare feat with a name / no hits, no runs, no errors / it's a perfect game!" A perfect game entails no walks either. Of course, once you have no hits, no walks, and no errors, you've also got no runs -- so a little white-out over "runs" to be replaced by "walks" could do the trick. The second problem requires the re-drawing of a whole page. The entry for "B" discusses Babe Ruth as the best ball player in history. You can make an art project out of this fallacy. I suggest the following text:B is for the best:Teddy Ballgame's bat was savage. Some might say the best was Babe --But who had the better average?
