The contours on the thighs are nice and these shorts are very warm for early morning winter workouts. But, these shorts don't have a drawstring. I got the same size as another pair of 2xu compression shorts, but these leggings were constantly riding down without the added cinching of the drawstring.

but very comfortable and cozy
Warm, certainly not for running in a snowstorm, but very comfortable and cozy. Breathes well. A bit tight on my giant quads, wearing them around the house seems to help.

Great compression pants for all activities in temperatures under 50 degrees!
I like to hike and play a bunch of sports and decided to try these out for the winter months. I live in the Bay Area in CA so it doesn't get too cold but I wanted to see how these would work in different weather conditions. I used them for hiking with the temperature in the upper 40s and then for playing ultimate with the weather in the upper 50s.For starters, these are high quality, warm compression pants. you can just tell from the material that they'll hold up for a while and the comfort level is amazing. I followed the size chart when ordering and I think they fit pretty well (if anything, they may be on the smaller side) but with compression it's supposed to be pretty tight. I've used compression sleeves for my calves for a while now and was looking fro something for my thighs. Compression wise, this was perfect. I was much less sore after the activities and I could easily notice the difference between doing something with these on and without.Regarding the heating effect, I felt that these were a bit too warm for ultimate (upper 50s) but were great for hiking (upper 40s). I would say these are perfect for use in the 40s or colder and I can see this being perfect for when I go skiing next. Overall, these are amazing and I'm so glad I tried them out. Will definitely use these in the cold and I don't have a single complaint about them.
