The moment I pulled the bag of fish from the box I was very happy! Beautiful, healthy Ranchu!! Great price. Fish are doing very well. Had about 24 hrs and we love them!Ordered on a Tuesday, fish shipped from California on Wednesday the next day, arrived on extreme East Coast on Thursday. Whats not to like about that?Just my 2 cents:While shipping fish can be stressful for them so can big changes in water type and quality. Some complaints of fish dying could be on the set up they went into and not the quality or health of the fish.Stepping down off soap box....Very happy!

These fish were either sick and lost their eyes or in an overcrowded tank some scales where damaged and 1 fish had both eyes missing and another fish had 1 eye missing

I contacted the seller ahead of time to ask for a substitution in my order. He answered within 24hrs and agreed. I placed my order and had it at my door 2 days later. They were healthy and active. I drip acclimated them for 5hrs and they are doing well in the tank. Would HIGHLY recommend.

I too, like a few other buyers, have never ordered live fish from Amazon before, but took a chance on these little guys and don’t regret it! Sellers communicated very well and provided good customer service regarding questions I had before my purchase. These little guys arrived after two day shipping, which is typically standard for ordering fish online and without incident. Packaging was an appropriately sized box with styrofoam padding along the sides & top to keep them safe. As always is recommended, I put the three little black Thai Ranchu through my standard new arrival/quarantine procedures to give them their best chance at thriving in their new home and all is well after a few days!Finding black Thai Ranchu can actually be fairly difficult this time of year, as most are imported from farms in Thailand beginning in the Spring and sold throughout the earlier parts of the year. These little guys have the characteristic small eyes where their wen (head growth) is beginning to cover the edges of the eye around the pupil as intended. Their eyesight is still great at this size & they can smell food with no issues at all! The depth of their black is pretty solid for young fish, with their bellies being black as is standard for black Thai ranchu, compared to Chinese black ranchu where the black fades to light gold/brown at the lower sides of the belly. As with any netted or shipped fish, a scale or two can be missing, but young fish have great chances to recover color with clean water & great diet. For black fish, full spectrum daylight & food with little to no color enhancers are said to improve the black.I purchase fish with the intent to breed & may have at least 1 or 2 in this group that may provide a decent starting point. Overall quality, such as smoothly curved backs, proper tail set, thick peduncle (tail before caudal fin), proper caudal fin spread (open triangle vs. pinched/collapsed) may vary and could leave a lot to be desired depending on what you receive.TL;DR: For those looking for pets only, beginner goldfish hobbyists or amateur breeders, these happy & healthy little guys are a great addition to a goldfish collection!

All my fish are alive but they all don’t have eyes which is a disease that the seller didn’t cure before selling. Not happy for the amount of money I spent on these guys. Let’s just hope they don’t die next.

I’ve never ordered fish via Amazon, and wasn’t sure what to expect. All 3 ranchus arrived alive, there was some water leaked from bag but they were swimming around and in pretty good shape. They appear to be black Thai ranchus with the very small eyes (boxer types) or possibly lionchus. 2 looked great during acclimating and 1 had clamped fins and a few abrasions. I am treating all 3 with General Cure and for Ich just to be safe. It’s been 5 days since delivery and all 3 are doing good so far. I would definitely consider buying from this seller again.
