Architectural Mailboxes 6300W-10 Oasis 360 Mailbox, White

I purchased this mailbox as renewed, and was basically in new condition, along with the recommended metal post.The installation went smooth and I was very happy with the outcome. The next day I was inspecting my handy work and the mailbox and post were solid. It was at this time I discovered a security flaw with the rear door lock the manufacturer should have picked up on.If you open the front mail slot and hold it half ways open, you can see the rear door lock. If you insert a long handle screwdriver through this slot, a thief could unscrew and open the rear door lock, no force required.The first thing I did was carefully put lock tight on the lock screw only and not any other part of the lock and put it back on. This makes it very difficult to unscrew the lock. I then placed about four coats of liquid rubber on the screw head itself until it filled the screw head so a screwdriver cannot fit the screw head.I should not have to do this on a brand new mailbox. The manufacturer could have used a different security type screw on the lock.

We’ve had mail theft occurrences in our home and neighborhood recently, hence compelled to look for a lockable mailbox. We purchased the Architectural Oasis 360 mailbox in Pewter, along with the Architectural Mailbox 7540B-10 Adapter plate. We’re very happy with both purchases overall. 1) shoutout to the Seller for delivering the mailbox sooner than the stated delivery date. 2) We wanted the black mailbox initially but it would’ve taken several weeks to deliver, so we settled for pewter instead. We ended up loving it, better than the black! 3) We recommend buying the 4x4 adapter plate with the mailbox. It secures the box properly and makes installation much easier. The only constructive comment we have is that it would be nice if the mounting hardware for the adapter plate came with a protective cap to avoid scratching hands when we retrieve the mail. 4) best of all, I believe my mails are much more secure now because of the L-shape metal opening (Shute) that deters pulling the mail from the open slit. We originally purchased from Amazon another locked mailbox from a competitor with a slit that fits a female adult size hand to allow access and pull out the mail or package from inside. The box got returned immediately.

We had our mail stolen and a credit card opened fraudulently as a result. Decided to replace the mailbox so to ensure no more mail is stolen. The mailbox was bricked but I hired a person to take apart and rebuild so to fit this box. It worked, this fit wonderfully with just a bit of re-figuration on brick and making sure sticks out just enough for door to easily fully open. Mailbox is very sturdy and made nicely so to prevent mail theft. I’d highly recommend and wished I had changed out years ago.

This mailbox is very well constructed. The only thing that can reach into it to steal your mail is an octopus.After our neighborhood had been hit with a rash of mail thefts the time to stop it was now. I attached the box securely to the post cross bars with a 3/4" x 9 and 1/2" x 14" exterior rated hardwood pad with 5/16" x 1 and 1/2" (L) carriage bolts/nuts/washers. I drilled the pad into the cross posts with multiple 2 and 3/4" stainless steel deck screws and then secured the box to the pad with the carriage bolts. Once you torque down the carriage bolts their seat will embed into the bottom shelf of the box and basically be flat. - the box isn't going anywhere.The keys to the box go in upside down (just a tip) and take a couple of cycles to go in smoothly when new.

Mailbox is great, but it would have been nice to know which posts would be compatible! The once I chose blocks the back access!

First we ordered a locking mailbox, it was HUGE. Since we are just needing it for residential use, that was unnecessary, so we decided to try this one instead. Bingo! This one is perfect size. It fits the padded envelopes that Amazon ships in, and so far we haven't had any issues with mail thieves. It feels pretty sturdy like it would take a little bit to pry it open. We can actually see our mailbox from our bedroom but it is a hike down the hill to it so I wanted it locked. It came with 4 keys which was awesome because now every set has one. Overall, this is a good mailbox for residential use. I haven't tried mailing anything out in it, but there is a nice little clip if that was the case. I just prefer to bring my bills and other valuable mail straight to the post office.

This is a very well made, well designed mailbox. It is secure, easy to install and came with 4 keys. I especially like the way I can access the contents through the rear door rather than have to retrieve my mail from the street.

The product so far is good & sturdy metal material.I was unsatisfied with the delivery message.The message I received said it was handed to someone which was false.I happen to be home it was left on the inside of the 3ft change link fence.The fence door is left wide open every day.Everything from the street is visible & anyone person passing by could take the package received.The delivery person didn't make an attempt to walk in to hand over the package in person.I feel that if I received a message that states it was handed to someone it should be a true statement noted not a false message.Thank you for taking the time to read my comment.

Wondering about rain getting in, but for that we need to have it a few years to know. Can maybe add some caulk and/or weatherstripping.
