Great vise
Great vise for the money. I have had gone through multiple vises tying every day for the last several years. This has held up and is met all expectations. Would not hesitate to buy another.

Very nice vise for the price!! Bigger than I expected. So far no problems with it. I would by it again if I had to.

Great vise for a beginner
As a fly tying beginner, I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a vise to get started. I saw a review on You Tube on the Savage Flies channel about budget vices; they gave this vise high praise for the money so I bought it. It's been an awesome vise to learn on. It was simple to set up and easy to use. I've tied down to #24 hooks and the jaws hold awesome. I know looks aren't everything, but this vise also just looks cool with the green anodized bits. The foam fly and tool holders are a nice value add; I use them to let my flies dry after applying head cement. I would recommend this vise to other beginners or folks who don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. Here's what I don't like, hence the 4 star review. One is the plastic knob on the c-clamp. It's really hard to get tightened down without pliers, which would probably eventually tear up that knob. The guy on Savage Flies talked about this same issue, so I knew that might be an issue. I ended up ordering a pedestal for the vise, but until that arrived I ditched the knob and replaced it with a allen head bolt with the same thread pitch and just tightened it down with a allen wrench. Any hardware store sells them if you don't have one laying around. The second thing I don't like is there is a significant amount of play in the body of the vise and the green clamp on the middle of the vise. It seems like the tolerances are a bit off which results in the vise clunking around a bit as you tie a fly. This vise will be fine to learn on, but I will likely replace it with a Renzetti in the near future since the clunking drives me a little crazy. If the clunking could be eliminated, I'd likely just keep this vise until it died.Overall, I am super happy with the vise. For the price, I didn't expect high-end quality by any means. It's a great little vise that allowed me to get started without breaking the bank.

Cheap, it works
All the machining tolerances are sloppy, so if you actually use the rotary part, it wobbles all over. The locks aren't very strong to keep things from moving/twisting. But, you get what you pay for, and it's not horrible if you just need something.

Works great
I use this Vise to tie jigs. I have used it a lot and have no complaints. The screw that you use to adjust the height has a plastic cover on it that spins over the top of the metal screw underneath it. Once I removed the cap I was able to adjust the height and turn the Vise. It's hard to beat for the money so far.

I can’t recommend you buy this vise.
I tied a total of 10 flies. On the 11th one side of the jaws cracked off while clamping the hook. I’d also have to say the plastic screw that holds the vise to the base clamp needs to be changed to metal and the screw needs to be longer. The jaws seem to be cast steel and could be the reason they broke. I can’t really recommend you buy this vise.
