Very important component of a proper installation Don’t skip this step
I have installed over 100 mini splits as part of my home service team business here in Arizona. Mini Splits are the solution and the future of home A/C and heating needs. Very efficient, very low cost, very reliable. 99 percent of all failures in Mini Split Systems are related to the refrigerant leaking from the unit at the connector. This is 100 percent the installers fault. The fittings can be over torqued ( over tightened ). The line vibration can cause the flare on the copper line set to wear down just enough to allow the refrigerant to escape. The solution is proper tightening. Using a flare seal. Mini splits are easy to install. The installations hold up for a good long time if you do it properlyThis product is a sure thing. I use them always. In combination with the blue monster tape Nylog fitting sealer, a flare fitting torque wrench. All available on Amazon.Do not skip the use of this product. If you loose you refrigerant it can cost more than $500 to have a technician come out and make the correction , evacuate and recharge.

These work very well on mini split flares.
The most common area to have a leak on a mini split is at the flair location. These seals do a wonderful job of maintaining a sealed flare and avoiding leaks. Even when the flare looks great I still opt to use these seals as they simply work very well.

Works great. No experience and no leaks.
Works really well. Just place on male side and torque to the setting on the back of the card. First time using and worked great.

Overpriced but you need it
I don't know what's so special about these to be so expensive but they're probably the best idea to prevent disastrous leaks.

Perfect fit for a not so perfect flare
Product works just as intended. Very impressed with the fitment. I wish the original HVAC installer would have used these because this line was leaking slowly for probably a year or so. Make sure you get the correct sizes - have someone “qualified” pump down the system, put these in, vacuum and release. Or, if you’re doing a new install, have some of these ready for install day! Others have said to use Nylog on the threads too for best results. Glad I found this and glad it worked for a slightly imperfect flare.

Expensive but worthit
These little things cost a fortune for the amount of material used in them but I have to say that they are priceless. Wish I had bought these a couple of months ago when I first started trying to vacuum my mini split linesets. They just wouldn't hold a vacuum. I tried Nylog. No luck. I bought a new guage set. No luck. I thought I had a larger issue so I called an HVAC guy to come and check it. After weeks of no show I called another guy. After weeks of him no showing I tried a third. Each one said they would come and vacuum my linesets. Nobody ever came. So back to trying on my own. I undid my linesets, checked the flares, reapplied Nylog, connected everything up. Wouldn't hold the vacuum. No luck. I bought a new vacuum pump and gauge set. No luck. I bought these FlareSeals, put them on, vacuumed, and I was actually shocked that it worked - but it held! I won't do another one of these projects without these priceless FlareSeals.

Use them and still leaks
Little known fact of mini splits is getting a perfect seal is challenging. I have 4 of them and only one will hold a perfect charge for a year. All of them are under 2 years old. 2 of them have slow leaks. I used these seals and nylok. All were torqued down to specs. My next step is some leak seal with uv dye so I can see where it’s pinhole leaking. I guess adding some refrigerant each year isn’t too bad but I don’t want to be doing this. I think my end thought is the seals are a good idea but didn’t work as well as I thought.

Very satisfied!
I used these on the installation of a quad-zone Pioneer mini-split system and am 100% pleased with the results. I found them relatively easy to install. The ¼ inch seals were a little tricky to press into place on the flare cone, but with some coaxing, they worked just fine. I did have a little problem on some connections getting the flare nut thread started, but by simply checking and tweaking the alignment, they threaded on without issue. I did not use Nylog. I did not think it was necessary with the flare seals, but I imagine it would not hurt. So, I really have nothing to compare it to. Other than a single-zone mini-split which I installed a few years ago. I utilized the factory flares and did use Nylog on the connections. Have had no leaks. However, the relatively small additional cost of the flare seals was well worth it for me. I rented a nitrogen bottle and did a pressure + bubble test prior to evacuating the system. No issues whatsoever. The system is working fine. If I do install another mini-split, I will most likely install the flare seals.

They work well, but...
I'd really have liked it if they'd have labeled the little zip loc bags inside the container, as many sizes (eg 3/8 and 1/2) look very similar, and once you've used some up, you may not be sure which ones you have left, so you find yourself using trial and error to figure it out.

Worked as designed
I used these as a precaution, and they appear to have done the job in providing the seal between the two copper ends.Hope it lasts and proves worth its price as they appear to be slightly overpriced for the material amount being supplied.
