Saphir Varnish Rife Patent Leather Cleaner - for Shoes, Boots, Bags & Clothes

Bought this to restore second hand patent leather sandals that I purchased recently, and I am IMPRESSED!!! The Tory Burch logo on the shoe was the dullest part, and the first image shows you that. I wiped them down, but they were still dull, so I purchased this. The second image is right after application with a cotton ball, which makes it look more dull, but you have to trust the process! After leaving the cleaner to sit on the shoes for 3 minutes, I buffed them with a microfiber towel and WOW!!! The logo is shiny, and you can even see my reflection in the 3rd & 4th photo!! I am beyond impressed, and so glad that this product could restore these sandals! If anyone else is looking for a good cleaner for their tory sandals, or anything with patent actually, i would really recommend!

I have to admit that, in general, I find Saphir products overrated. This brand has a certain snobbish cachet that I find a bit off-putting. Yes, the products are good, but there are other brands that I find equally good, if not better, and most of them are less expensive - Paul Brunngård comes to mind... But having said that, Saphir's Vernis Rife is probably the best patent leather cleaner and conditioner on the market. It's easy to use, a little goes a long way, and it does an excellent job of cleaning and hydrating patent leather, and leaving it looking like new. So even though I can't call myself a Saphir fan, this is one product that I will only buy from Saphir.

I love patent leather shoes with leather soles for east coast swing dancing. They take a beating! Saphir cleaner removed some black spots on my red flats. I used it on Kate Spade plaid flats. Lovely shine! Also used on some thrifted name brand shoes from Poshmark. They were pretty good to start but this took off some marks.

Found this on social media. Didn't work as well as I expected, worked a bit on slightly oxidized patent leather, but not on more heavily oxidized ones.

I have exactly 1 pair of patient leather shoes and of course they are prone to scratching. They are my first such pair as an adult so learning to care for them has been a trip. This stuff is wonderful & is doing a great job keeping that shine.

Works like a dream! The smell isn’t overwhelming, it left no stickiness definitely worth the money, works quickly and leaves an amazing finish when it dries, which is also quick! It’s been a few months since I used this on a bag and its durability is impressive!

This noxious tiny little bottle did nothing for my patent leather shoes except give me a migrane from the fumes! Stank to high heaven! Now check the photos—can you tell which side was “polished”? Can you tell which photo was before or after? Yah, neither could I! This stuff made ZERO difference, and it definitely didn't add any shine or buff out the scuffs in the shoes. Total ripoff. PS. After a lot of experimentation with all sorts of DIY suggestions online, I found that for shiny patent leather formal shoes Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish worked the best. It's sold for car headlights, and you need to use a tiny amount (like a pea amount per shoe) and buff out in multiple layers. After 2-3 buff/polish cycles I noticed a huge difference with the Meguiars PalstX, whereas the Vernis Rife did absolutely nothing.
