Fluke 80PK-25 SureGrip Piercing Temperature Probe

Top Accuracy
This probe was spot on when tested in an ice bath and boiling water, but then it's a Fluke. There was no question of quality when I bought this. This probe replaced a new ThermoWorks probe that was off by several degrees, but ThermoWorks Support told me you can't trust an ice bath or boiling water despite the fact a few other probes showed the ice bath was 32 degrees.

Top-Notch Quality
This probe is much more expensive then other K-type probes available, particularly here on Amazon, however the higher price is definitely worth it. I ended up buying a Amico probe that was a fraction of the price... it was very cheaply made and was between 8% and 12% off in the measurements. I returned it and bought the Fluke 80PK-25. The Fluke's quality is in another league... far, far better. The readings were also dead-on perfect. The tip is extremely sharp, but comes with a rubber cap to protect against accidental impalings. The cord is very soft and flexible, but durable. Highly recommended if you need true/accurate measurements.

A reliable measuring device.
Nice addition to my DMM when I cook on the grill. It seems like an overkill, but I have had three digital grill/oven thermometers and they all failed, so this is the one I can trust to work when I need it to.

Great, but don't forget to keep the tip cover ...
Use for HVAC or food. Great, but don't forget to keep the tip cover in safe spot.

Not a good value
precision & accuracy of this thermocouple does not justify the high cost of the item
