Im so confused. I ordered 2.5" to 2.5" but I have received 2 clamps that go from 1 size to another bigger size on the other end ?

You are confused as to what you are ordering. This is to join 2.5" OD to 2.5" ID pipes. It clearly says in the description that this is to join pipes of 2 different sizes. If you are joining two pipes of the exact same size, you want a butt joint clamp.

Can i couple this to a 2.3 inch exhaust pipe?

It won't tighten up correctly for that size. Get yourself the 2.25" size to do w.3"

I’m trying to get a clamp for a 2.5inch, but when I get a 2.5 clamp it doesn’t tighten enough will this work on a 2.5 ID exhaust ?

No. This 2.25 will not work on 2.5” ID or OD The 2.5” clamps I got were almost too small I’m not sure why they won’t tighten enough. This style clamp will not compress the tubing.

What size do I get for a 3” pipe?

3 inch, but get one from local store this one was garbage.
