Shell Education 180 Days of Language for Fifth Grade (180 Days of Practice)

The book is has great supplemental material. I would not use this book as my priority teaching tool, not enough lessons or enough detail lessons. It is really not organized to common core so you need to look around for the topic you might be teaching. The articles are interesting and kids do enjoy them. Sections are short and straight to the point with only 3 to 4 questions. Very easy to use and all answers in the back.

I love these books it has the answers and questions it is so easy for extra work for homeschoolers and they learn a lot with them

These language books are ok for practice. Definitely not a stand alone textbook Not enough information is given.

Wonderful Practice workbook. The first few pages explains how to use the book however if your child is using it as a travel activity, it’s a great workbook for that also.

This book is great as morning work for a fourth grade class. The questions get progressively harder as the year goes on and the students can learn from their mistakes because it is repetitive. It covers both grammar and spelling and provides a good intro and supplement for Literacy classes.

I like this series because of its short worksheets. However, I wish it offered a little area of instruction with more examples as well as more of a variety of worksheets. This workbook is full of the exact same type of worksheets instructing kids to, “fill in the missing punctuation.” The 180 days series offers reading and writing in two separate workbooks which is great. So I though Language arts would fulfill all this subject normally consists of. However, it’s all about punctuations. Not sure but I think L.A. consists more than just filling missing punctuations.

I have been using these books for years in my homeschool. I really like them. I have always torn them out, hole punched, and put them in a morning work binder. Problem: this book does not have perforated pages!!! I’m not sure why they would stop doing that???

I am a homeschooling parent and this workbook will not meet our needs. Although the work seems relevant to the grade level, there is no instruction at all in this book. In my opinion, this can be used this only as a supplement to another curriculum.
