Havalon Hydra - Brick Red

Buy it! It's so sharp. I have had lots of other blades and they full pretty quick. I skinned 4 hogs with one single blade before I wanted to change the blades out. Hogs skin is very tough and dulls blades quickly. This is a bad ass knife and the dual blade with bone saw is a plus too.

This is a knife that comes in a pouch... In that pouch it will likely stay until it is useful. Only complaint is there isn't a gut hook. otherwise it would have all I would have needed for deer season, rabbit processing and fishing.Very versatile, lots of uses but not for your pocket. Fits in your backpack nicely.

I like the Baracuta and Piranta Edge but both have two very different uses for me when I am in the field. I like the Baracuta for filleting fish and the Edge for processing small game. The hydra with the carry case and blade assortment allows me to carry one knife and tackle any cutting chore. The ability to use the Piranta blades like the gut hook and 60 A and at the same time have the larger hunting blade 115 x, fillet blade or the bone saw makes a perfect game processing knife system.

I have bought countless pirantas and barracudas over the years. I love the knives but I'm always losing one or the other and forgetting where I set them after the kill. I love barracudas for the gutting and processing side while pirantas I use for the finer side of skinning. I love that I can fill the case with different blades and not have to keep track of several knives. I use this from cleaning dove, quail, pheasant, duck, geese, and with big game! It also came in handy when I forgot my bone saw but had the blade in the case and managed to save a trip to town!! Love this knife!!

Only one bone saw blade which is not what is advertised. Seems to be a common complaint from other reviews. Knife itself appears perfect so hopefully we can get remedied and review can be updated.

Does everything. Forever sharp. Say goodbye to ever shopping for a knife again.

A nice setup that will probably last me the rest of my life. Pictured is all the blades that it comes with. The wrappers on the side are blades I removed to display on the package. I added a spoon to the pic to give a scale on the size of everything.I'll come back and review more after I have had the chance to use it several times.
