It is instant Hot Water
Great to have if you are getting hot water frequently. Previously we would boil water in the morning, put it into a coffee thermos that would keep it hot all day. Now we can get hot water when we like. Have my French press full of coffee any time, faster than using a Keurig. It gets 5 stars because it does what it says, and has a nice faucet, safety feature for the hot, and works without issue, but it still could do it better.. the cons To know: Installing it is easy if you know a little plumbing, and already have power you can plug it into. The Cons: Bad insulation, energy consumption would go way down with some insulation, I hear it heating about once an hour. It feels warm, like a mug of coffee to the touch, so it is giving off quite a bit of heat. Waste heat warms the house in winter, but not good for the summer. The package says equivalent to a 40 watt bulb, but keep in mind that it is like running a 40 watt light all day, as it is pulling 1000 watts on and off. If it had some vacuum insulation like the coffee thermos we used in the past, hot water for a day would be like running a 40watt light for an hour, not a day. Power outage will turn it off and you have to manually remember to turn it back on. Understandable safety feature, but worth noting. Notice this as I was going to put it on a timer to just have it only on in mornings, when it is used the most and fill the thermos for the rest of the day. It does heat the water pretty quickly if you forget to turn it on. It is a bit Noisy. When heating it makes a hissing sound. Not bad but you will hear it.

Strong metallic taste/odor but great customer support, Super hot, heats quickly, nice faucet
***** Five stars for superior customer support. This relates to the "con" portion of my review below. I contacted the company, they immediately send me another tank and completely stood by their product. I received the replacement tank within a week, our plumber swapped it out and everything is now perfect. The water is piping hot and tastes just as it should. Thank you Joneca for being a responsible company with great customer support. Got this to replace an older Waste King tank that started leaking. I would have replaced it with another Waste King since we've always been happy with that brand, but I bought this Ready Hot this time mainly because of the smaller size. It's just a few inches smaller than the Waste King, but in that under-sink area, even a few inches make a big difference. Pros: - Despite the smaller tank size, the recovery from empty to new supply of hot water is amazingly quick. It's rare that I drain the tank in one use, but when I do, I feel it replenishes the hot water in a matter of just a few minutes. - The faucet is fantastic. The stream is strong and doesn't splash or spray. The safety lever is not needed at our home, but it's easy to use (press down on the handle while turning) and not a safety feature that hampers convenience. - The water is hot! Not even turned up fully, the temp is hot enough for tea, cocoa and takes minutes off cooking oatmeal. Our other tank (or maybe it was the faucet) would spit and drip when turned up too high so there was a limit to how high I could set the temp. Cons: - My biggest complaint so far is that the water has a strong metallic/chlorinated taste and odor to it. We have a water filter connected to the supply line and even the unfiltered tap water has none of that taste/smell. I can only surmise that taste and odor is being pulled from the tank. We've been using this for several days now, and I've already run more than 10 gallons through it already but the taste and smell still remain. I'm hoping it just needs flushing but how much flushing could it need before it clears? I'd just changed the water filter and even dug that out of the bin to see if perhaps the new filter was at fault. I swapped it out with the new filter but the taste and smell was still there. I contacted the company 4 days ago but haven't heard from them yet. If the taste and odor dissipate, then I'd say I'm completely happy with this. I've given this 4 stars for now because I love everything about this except for the taste and odor. If I hear back from the company and/or the taste and odor resolve over time, I'll up the rating to 5* If there's issue with the tank itself, then there's no way this is acceptable and I'll have to dock it several stars and bring it down to a 2*.

Buy this one
This was my 5th try at getting decent hot water in my van/camper without propane. This one WORKS. I only turned the knob half way after getting it installed, and the water was so hot I had to let my tea sit for a few minutes. Can't wait to try it with Ramen noodles. It only took 2 or 3 minutes to get that hot. There's a light on the front that changes from red to green once it is up to the temperature you set it to. The filter that is recommended to purchase with it was easy to install as well. I got the one that filters 16000 gallons, so I should be set for a few years.

Do not purchase
Poor quality and communication. Purchased this nearly a year ago. My husband ended up being on the jobsite longer than expected so the return window lapsed before we could install it. Installing it seemed straightforward, but it didn't work. When the faucet handle is turned off, the flexible tube and the unit itself start expanding -if you don't catch it, it will pop off and you'll have a mess within a minute. I visited Home Depot, Lowes, and the local plumbing supply store for parts and advice. Everyone said the same, the setup should work. But it's not. I've called and followed up via email as instructed. I was told there was a part I'd be sent. That never materialized. Expensive waste of time money.

This is the third Ready hot unit I have purchased and installed. The value for dollars spent surpasses any thing comparable. The dual control faucet is very high quality and is supplied with a collapsible back plate allowing installation from the counter top surface. The digital temperature display is a nice improvement on the, turn and guess dial older models were equipped with.

Amazing! Got rid of kettle after this was installed. Saves so much time, and the water tastes great with the filter we purchased separately.

water is really hot and easily adjustable and the safety red button depress to turn on is a great design feature; old unit (not same make) did not have this and had to be careful, VERY careful.

Received a faulty item. I reached out to the seller for a refund. Seller apologized and promised to pay for shipping fees. After refund was completed, I was stuck with paying 70 dollar shipping fee. I attempted to reach out to the seller multiple times to request to pay for shipping fees but the seller never responded again. I thought this was quite interesting as the seller was quick to respond previously. Already filed a complaint to Amazon.
