This is THE brand for Venetian plaster. Firmolux is 100% Italian made so of course quality is top priority. Two years ago I used this on my range hood over drywall after painting my drywall with “micro primer” and still looks great! Kilz works as a primer too but the key is to use a 100% steel trowel, sand with 800 grade wet or dry sandpaper, not the black color sand paper, and seal with mineral sealer, then wax. Lots of elbow grease but totally worth it. Will last forever if taken care of. Another good brand is Vasari. Italian made too and the brand I used for mineral sealer. Hope this helps. Be prepared for work!

I used it to do my vent hood. Searched online with multiple options like lime wash, Venetian plaster, etc. I don’t know why it’s not popular in the US… but I’m lucky to find this product on Amazon, learned the technique from YouTube and did it myself. I did also buy a quartz primer before applying this plaster. And applied two coats, the last coat before it’s dry, you need to use trowel to Bernish to give it shiny look. I don’t quite like shiny so I coated another two coats of mineral sealer to give it matte and smooth texture. Got a lot of compliment from friends.

Good stuff

Very bad finished. It never worked. Absolutely dissapointed. The do not accept any return. Do not waste your money with this product. The paint came out on my fingers when I touched the wall. I had to re make the wall with another product so I expent twice.

I used this product for an accent wall in my house and it turned out so much better than I expected! I was nervous because I’ve heard plaster can be tricky but this product was so easy to apply. The suggested amount was spot on too. I definitely recommend and I will be using this brand again in the future.

End result wasn’t what I expected. I stuccoed my fireplace but the finish and texture is not what I saw in the pictures. Maybe it was a user error not sure. Will try another product next time to compare.

My husband is a plasterer by trade and loved this product. He said it was the first proper plaster he has worked with since we moved here from Europe eight years ago. He used it in out bathroom renovation and it’s stunning!
