Top quality, good value
Crisp engraving, easy to read, satin finish stainless steel. This is my 2nd Mitutoyo ruler. I used to be a Starret man, but with their astronomical prices and now questionable quality, I turned to Mitutoyo. They are by no means cheap, but they are less expensive than Starret, and the quality appears to be every bit as good as Starret ever was. I'm only sorry I didn't try Mitutoyo earlier, could have saved a bundle of money.

Trustworthy quality - my go-to pocket rule
Just about the perfect small rule. Inches in tenths & hundredths (graduations are very fine, crisp, and legible, with easy to count alternating tick lengths), mm on the back side... the most usable combination for anyone working with metal or mechanical things. The rule is slender and thin enough to follow gently curved surfaces. A joy to use. Now if only Starrett would bring their production back home (or at least move it out of a country that imprisons and enslaves their minorities), I'd reconsider their stuff. As it stands, I'll take Mitutoyo's excellent Made-in-Japan quality all day long. This one is my go-to pocket ruler.

I use it every day, and it's perfect.
I had another scale I was using for a bit, but as a CNC machinist working in inches 80% of the time, having a pocket scale that reads first and foremost in decimal rather than fractions (1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, etc.) is really really useful. For the other 20%, when I'm working in metric, I've got mm right on the back too. Easy, uncomplicated, clear, and fits in my work shirt pocket next to my pocket flashlight and a couple of pens. Another perfect product from Mitutoyo.

Perfect!
Perfect pocket rule. And the decimals helped me get away from the fractions 💪🏾

Good price for great construction
Great construction. Accurate measurements against my other scales and calipers.the plastic sleeve is either going to get lost or covered in cutting oil and fall apart I believe. The corners are sharp so it's great for cleaning under your nails or pulling the odd splinter out of your finger

I needed a ruler graduated in tenths of an inch to maeasure snow depth. This ruler is just the right thing.

Fine ruler
This is a fine ruler, but I should point out the picture and the ad for this product specify "MADE IN USA" and country of origin as "USA". It is made in Japan, it says it on my packaging and ruler. Not a deal breaker for me. It is a very fine measuring tool and I have no doubt I will get many years of fine service from this product expertly made in Japan. Recommended

Not a Startett replacement
Purchased this hoping it would be a faster/cheaper alternative to ordering a metric Starrett to match my inch rule. I’ve had great luck with Mitutoyo in the past so I had high expectations. I was very disappointed in the finishing quality. I know it’s hard to see in pictures, but there is way more glare due to the sanded finish compared to Starrett’s satin chrome finish. As my eyesight gets worse over the years, it’s become really important to be able to clearly see the graduations on the rule. You really do get what you pay for I guess. I’ve had my Starrett inch rule for 20 years and it’s held up incredibly well. Just but the bullet and ordered a c330-150, paying twice a much for a tool that I’ll use daily and last a lifetime is worth it in this case. I know this comes off as “old man yells at cloud” but if you know, you know and this review will help you.
