Absolutely brilliant cover. 3 layer, black, smart looking cover, with great cutouts, must buy for the Pi. Although a little thick, it works perfectly when attaching gpio pins, including the fan which came with the case. Fan is amazing! Almost noiseless, tried 3.3v pin on the pi at 6000rpm, it didn't seem like it displaced much air, but I did some testing Idle temperature - 40° Cpu stress test 100% load - 66° That's really brilliant considering without the case my idle temp was 55° I tried with the 5v, and it's working extremely well, but with some negligible noise. Idle temps - 34° Cpu stress test- not carried out Temperatures of the board were near to 60 degrees before the case and fan. After installation it has dropped to 35 degrees at full fan load. Extremely happy with the product, and the cooling.

Great product, fan speed and case quality is also good, and value for money, noise level is fine(bearable (using with 5V)), but a inconvenience while installation of fan, it would be great if it was fitted by default.

[Updated Review on 2023] Since I purchased this 3 years ago, this case is still working great and very easy to handle and protect the Pi. We can easily remove top for mounting any other things like camera, and put it back with ease. Since raspberry OS now supports easy fan on-off though its own OS settings, we can make this fan On at particular temperature. So generally I set it to 65 or 70 and it cools it down to 50 in 10-20 seconds and then automatically fan goes off. Earlier I had to do write a python program and install resistance and transistor to on-off the fan. But now its EZ PZ. Overall this is great product. Trust me I have seen cases worth 1500 and 7000 rupees too. They do the same job but this is much much cheaper and better. Purchase it and you will love it. Advice: - Purchase 5v fan separately if you want but current 3.3v is also fine. - Do buy CPU, RAM and GPU Metallic Heatsinks (it is generally Rs. 200 ) from same manufacture PiBox, and install it on Pi's CPU, RAM and GPU unit. The cooling happens so fast and also increases passive cooling. [Old Review from 2020] Pros: - Great design and great detailing on box. - Fan works silently and perfectly. - Slots given on box is so good. Cons: - There's no visibility of raspberry pi ON OFF status as box blocks the status light inside the body.

Good Product, but the cooling fan position is not correct. It is slightly away from processor. Also when the fan is connected to 5V pin of Pi there is a humming noise which eventually cause some Irritating. Also somewhat difficult to remove the Pi board from the case. Quality wise Good. But overall at this price it is fine..

This is a good case for Pi 4 but has a single design flaw. There is a 2mm gap around the top side cover. This is for air intake to improve cooling but actually does the opposite. The air drawn inside gets removed by fan before it can reach the inside of case. I sealed the gap around top cover with cello tape (pic attached). This improved cooling by 10 degrees and also reduced the noise level. Temperature Benchmarks: Case+Heatsinks+Fan (No overclock): 67 degrees max Case+Heatsinks+Fan (2 GHz overclock): 80 degrees max (throttled) Case+Heatsinks+Fan (2 GHz overclock) (After taping the side): 70 degrees max The included fan is a low profile fan (3007) with 7mm thickness. This means there is enough space to attach heatsinks to cpu. Received 2 aluminium heatsinks for CPU and USB controller. You can attach one more heatsink on RAM chip if you have one.

The fan initially worked well, but after just 15 days of use, it has started making a noticeable noise. When I shut down my Raspberry Pi before, the fan used to stop smoothly, but after 15 days it started halting abruptly with noise, indicating that the motor brush might be failing. I contacted the seller about the issue on Whatsapp, they suggested me to lubricate the fan. I followed the procedure and it worked fine for 1 day. Then the noise started again. After 3-4 days, it completely stopped working and only getting heated up unnecessarily. I will no longer keep it plugged in my pi as it can damage it. While the fan's cooling performance was satisfactory, the motor quality seems subpar. I am trying to contact the seller to provide me a replacement fan. Will update the review later if all goes fine as my current experience is very bad with PI Box. Edit: The seller responded and fan was replaced with additional 50 Rs delivery charges. It's working fine as of now and there are no noise related issues as well.

With my heatsink, a piece of thick (3mm) aluminium sheet and a ceramic heat radiator, the fan at 3.3 V kept the temperature below 55 even when CPU runs at 80-90%. At 3.3 V fan noise is very low. I could have cooled further using the 5V for fan but at that voltage fan is noisy. It is a fine case. It is very practical as weight is almost nothing compared to heavy metal cases that I was using before. After using for a week, running 24x7, the fan noise become quite audible even at 3.3 V. As it is a two pin fan without any control, there is no way to give it a rest. Fan quality is not suitable for continuous operation without noise. Update: Changed the fan to the official fan with control. Now better.

The case fits perfectly on Rpi 4 model B. Comes with a fan weighing and it's doing a great job at keeping the pi at reasonable temperatures. Installing the case and the fan is pretty easy and straightforward. Loved this one. I'm getting this case again the next time I buy another Pi too.
