Midwest Hearth Lava Rock for Fire Pits and Gas Log Sets, Red 1/2" to 2" (10-lb Bag)

I used these to fill bottom of large planters --lightweight to allow me to move pots, providing drainage, and reducing the amount of potting soil needed. Also would work in landscaping for drainage areas.

Nice selection of lava rock! I would buy it again. The color is nice and it heats well. We use it for our firepit.

Some of these rocks are smaller than 1/2" however the color on them is a nice red mostly. A few of the rocks look like shale (solid) and not lava. Overall pleased with the item. Delivery was super fast.

This product was great for indoor propane gas fireplace. I liked the different size stone. 1/2 inch to 2 inch mix . Average size fireplace and with one layer was enough. I also had some stone left over

I used it under some fire stone in both my outside fire pit anf inside fireplace. The texture allows gas to flow out of the burner and the lava stones are recommended to allow more air to circulate

Bought this for my fire pit and it's exactly what I wanted ... a rustic look rather than polished stones. I liked the warning about popping during first time use. We used it immediately with none of the popping, but happy to have been warned. There are all different sized stones, larger ones can be easily broken smaller. I had more than I needed for the pit so I used the leftover in the bottom of my planter for drainage.

These rocks explode when in use. I want either a refund or ones that don’t do that. It exploded onto my son , who was not hurt but could have been.
