Worked great to patch a hole in my basement wall.

The best hydraulic cement i have used so far.
I wrote this review after seeing that this product had only 3 and a half starts, this is an excellent product and deserves more stars. It Completely seals out water and adheres very well to concrete surface(make sure to clean surface first).I have used this product a few times and it always works very well.just remember that it dries very fast, so don't mix too much at once unless you plan to place it all very fast, there are instructions on the package.IMPORTANT: Buy this locally, you will save at least 50% as opposed to buying it on amazon I buy mine at lowes and depending on which store i bought it from( not all lowe's stores have the same prices) i payed anywhere from $14.58 to about $16, for a 20lb bucket( sometimes even less when on sale, i think...)

Seals flowing water and then some. All my thumbs up!
My family has used this product for many years with Outstanding results. As in any type of patch or coating repair, the surface must be prepared according to directions. This first step is the most important. This is for concrete as it states and the are being repaired must be cleaned of any coatings whatsoever. Period! When in doubt, clean it out. Also, when all else fails, read the instructions again and follow them. Enought about clean. This stuff heats up in your hand as you knead it and you better get it on the crack, hole, etc. as it will be hard even UNDER water in a few minutes.Yes, I have closed gaping cracks flowing gallons of water a minute by doing a little at a time. It sure beats the Dutch Boy!

Lives up to the name
After two major floods, we had water pouring into our basement through every crack and crevice. Everyone told me nothing could be done, but I decided to try Water-Stop. I applied it to cracks in floor and smeared it around perimeter where floor met the walls. I managed to put it down a day before we were getting more rain. After weeks of non-stop flooding and rain, we were almost completely dry after applying this. The only areas that were wet were those that I couldn't get at with the water-stop! It greatly decreased amount of water to the point that we haven't had to vacuum up water since we applied this stuff!I was very impressed with the results, especially given that I didn't chisel the cracks and I was rather careless in the application! I plan to apply to our new house because we have another wet basement!

it might be great, but in salt water
I used this to make a fake rock wall for my salt water aquarium. After one year, it has expanded in spots, cracking then crumbling. I will have to remove the pieces, break the coral off that has grown onto it, and start from scratch with something else. For other applications, it might be great, but in salt water, it was a huge fail.

Doesn't live up to its name

I applied it to cracks in floor and smeared it around perimeter where floor met the walls. I managed to put it down a day before we were getting more rain. After weeks of non-stop flooding and rain, we were almost completely wet after applying this. The only areas that were dry were the interior of the Quikrete bucket itself and my eyes, which filled with the powder. It weakly decreased amount of water to the point that turning on my hose would have added less moisture.I was unimpressed with the results, especially given that another review painted such a amazing marketing - sorry - truthful picture. I plan to apply to all of my neighbors houses so I can give Quikrete more money.
