DimensionsGarden Bluebirds Paint by Numbers Kit, 14'' W x 20'' L

We gave this to my mom for Christmas as she's an excellent painter and enjoys the fun of paint by numbers. I would probably not suggest it for someone just starting on these projects. The numbers are extremely small and to someone that doesn't already enjoy the process it may by very overwhelming. Aside from that, the piece is larger than I expected, but we were VERY happy about that. The paints that are included are absolutely wonderful and there are so many shades that it really makes the piece once completed stand out. You will probably want several of your own brushes as well as a magnifying glass. (my mom had to use one but it she loves these types of projects so she was not upset about it at all) I was so genuinely thrilled with this purchase. I will certainly be back to purchase from this company again!I attached an image of my moms finished product. It turned out absolutely beautiful and they plan on framing it for the house!

Gorgeous and fun! I'm a paint-by-number enthusiast and I'd consider this one to be moderate/complex in skill. I used only the brush they provided but would recommend to others have a nice set of various sized brushes on hand. In the past I have used multiple brushes but this time I wanted to challenge myself by using only the one :) The colours were accurate to the box photo and there was a lot of room for improvising. I like to take a final sweep over the painting with my own touches, this is a great painting to play around with depth and mixing your own colours if that is something you like to do. I finish my paint by numbers with UV Protective matte spray which you can find at any chain craft store. Highly recommended from the very artsy youngster who wants to push their painting limits, through the average adult who wants a really nice painting at the end of the day.

The 14X20 Garden Bluebirds is a beautifully detailed PBN kit for the advanced. It is not for the beginner or the impatient painter. This one takes a long time to complete. The entire canvas is covered in tiny spaces, most of which have the number clearly printed within those spaces. Only on rare occasion did I have to refer to the illustration to find a number. If you like painting tiny spaces, you’ll love painting the Garden Bluebirds.PROs… perfect for the advanced painter or someone who wants a challenge. The end result is gorgeous. The kit includes plenty of paint that flows easily across the canvas board. And yes, it comes with the hard, textured board, which is favored by many PBN-ers, including myself.CONs… You have to mix your own colors. The included brush is of good quality, but too large for the tiny spaces. Buy yourself a synthetic acrylic brush for fine details. Though the paint flows nicely, it isn’t the best quality. The light colors don’t cover the lines/numbers. The darker colors dry blotchy. I had to give most colors a second coat. That’s time consuming and frustrating, especially on a piece that takes a long time to finish without the extra labor.The end result is a beautifully detailed painting you’ll be proud to display or give as a gift.

I am almost done with this and it is so much fun. As a non-professional who paints for enjoyment and as a hobby, this has been perfect. It actually ends up looking like the photograph and it is also great for practicing blending and color mixing. While I stuck mostly to the key, I also added in my own touches. This such a great value - the paints are high quality and I don't know why, but I find this so relaxing. I look forward to getting home to paint and I think of myself painting this when I am dealing stress at work. I highly recommend this is you are learning to paint or find painting calming. It's also fun to watch the painting develop into a piece of artwork. Please notice the photo is of an unfinished painting.

Spaces too small for 62 year old eyes. Lines and numbers are very light and hard to read. I use a magnifying glass to paint. My next paint by numbers will have to have bigger spaces and be easier to read. However I do enjoy to continue working on it but cannot work on it for long periods. Completed the painting and I like the results.

This is my 4th Dimensions paint by numbers. I really liked all of the ones that I worked on, but this might be the most satisfying. It's realistic-looking, and I found this one easier to do, possibly because different colors are concentrated in smaller areas. (When I'm working with blue, I didn't need to hunt all over the art board for areas that need blue paint.) I'm 69, my eyes are not what they used to be, and some of the marked areas are very small, but I didn't find this to be all that difficult for me. I've framed and kept 2 of my paintings, gifted a third one. This will also make a great gift.

It was a great kit. The paints were beautiful, not dried out at all. If they got a little thick just added a little water and they thinned right out. Would buy more from this manufacturer. Very relaxing to do as well.

This picture was fun to paint. I liked mixing the colors because it gave me the option of changing them if I wanted. My husband bought me a magnifying light which made it a lot easier to see the numbers. I had plenty of paint but only mixed small amounts at a time. I would certainly gift this as a finished product but would be careful of gifting it as a kit since I can tell from the reviews that mixing colors is not for everyone. My husband and I both really like this painting and it now hangs in our dining room.
