No it’s not that bad but t doesn’t taste like licorice if that’s what you’re thinking.

are they made in America?

It says that it is manufactured by a company in Las Vegas, NV.

Are they tested for ochratoxin? This is a common contaminant at high levels in licorice products.

I have no idea but I returned them. They were obnoxiously sweet to me. I do like the Whole Foods brand.
