Unique smell, never smelled another candle that had such a scent. It has good throw in my apartment, and even when the candle is not burning, I can catch a whiff of its scent just walking by it. I accidentally bought another candle with the same "Feus de Bois" name (but it was by LAFCO http://www.desertcart.com/gp/product/B002QFXL4O/ ). Don't confuse these two candles! Yes, they have the same scent name, but to me the LAFCO brand "Feus de Bois" smells more like a fir tree (which is nice, but I really wanted the "wood burning fireplace" scent). So after buying the LAFCO brand "Feus de Bois" candle, I then bought the Diptyque brand of "Feus de Bois" and upon opening its box, I said "Yes! THIS is the scent I was looking for!" I cringe at the price of this candle, especially since it's not a huge-size like the LAFCO candle at a similar price, but I justify paying for this Diptyque candle because I love the scent and have not found any candle with such a great unique scent.

Having wasted $ 40 dollars on a range of sickly sweet and artificial smelling Yankee Candles I decided it was time revisit Diptyque candles and once again they are outstanding. The feu de bois candle is truly the smell of a real wood fire, I can't describe it any other way. It's worth every penny, and if it is anything life the Jasmine candle, it lasts forever. You only need to burn them for 20 mins or so for the perfectly balanced, gentle fragrance to fill the air. No I don't burn it every day, or in the bathroom, $2 IKEA candles are great for that and I probably wouldn't buy more than one or two of these a year, but if you really want to treat yourself to something amazing I would highly recommend these. So who spends $60 on a Candle? I DO :)

**Q: How do I burn this so that it doesn't just make a ring around the wick?**
A: Burn this candle for about four hours the first time you light it. It has to melt all the way across the top and down some. This way, it will burn evenly every time you use it and not tunnel down the wick and waste all the wax. Do this every time and you will find it works great!!

**Q: Why are these candles so expensive?**
A: They're considered luxury candles and made with quality ingredients

**Q: Why is the product "feus de bois" instead of the correct name, "feu de bois?" Is this a mistake, did they change the name, or is it counterfeit?**
A: I think that the "s" just looks like it goes with the "feu" instead of the "boi" part.  We received the candles and they are just the same as the ones we got directly from Paris
