Perfect Pepperoni Pizza Topping Alternative
When you look at the cross-section of this salami, you can tell right away that it has an even texture, just like pepperoni sausage has. I like the taste of this salami, so I decided to try it on pizza, and wouldn't you know it tastes just like pepperoni!?! I slice it really thin using a sharp knife. Then add it to the top of my homemade pizza. I like adding sausage crumble too, and white mushrooms. Yum. This is a very versatile sausage. Eat it plain, put it on sub sandwiches, eat it with cheese and crackers. Whatever. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

Cost
Hi, I used to purchase the Pick Hungarian Salami, but it got so expensive. The alternative is the Teli brand.. Taste-wise it is getting as close as it gets to the Pick. I read a review that complains about the fat. Obviously, they haven't had the original Hungarian Salami. Yes, it doesn't have the casing as the original and yes it is some plastic. What doesn't have plastic packaging? I personally like the taste (one can argue about taste and never reach agreement) at half the cost of a Pick.

Great Salami
My wife wanted me to order these at first. I really like this salami too. We have a meat slicer so it makes it easy to slice them into smaller pieces. We have order this salami many times over the last couple of years.

Too expensive
Expensive. A 3# Molinari (real mold wrapped) is 5 dollars more as compared to two pounds here. A dense finely ground mix, fake mold wrap, and vacuum sealed. I’m not a fan of the flavor that I recalled in my youth. I’m not sure I can hang it as I do other dry salami but the piece pictured I will.

Terrible
I and my wife were born and lived in Europe for 30 years , somwe are very much aware of how Hungarian Salami suppose to look and most importantly taste . This product has truly nothing with what it claims to be . As pictured above , mostly fat …there is no deep red cured meat as advertised on pictures in website . Casing is only simulated Pick salami bacteria with plastic white color but most importantly, the taste is so bland, so terrible spices used that if you go for the cheapest hard salami in your local grocery store you will be miles ahead of this for fraction of the cost . Non returnable so it goes to waste ( which we hate - besides loosing money ) . Major disappointment, major embarrassment to real famous Hungarian meat culinary history . I just have to hope that we did hit some bad batch , because we had purchased some other meat items form Bende before and were satisfied .

dry salami
Very tasty salami - not overly salty. It is still a little soft so it can be sliced effortless. To enhance the taste it should be sliced into very thin shape. Put it on a slice of bread and enjoy the rich flavor. To keep it fresh I cut it in smaller chunks and freeze it for later. I take the white skin of before I slice it. It comes off with little effort. If you like cold cuts this is a good addition.

Good but…
Order it for first time based on review. It’s good don’t get me wrong but I still prefer Molinari & Sons Italian dry salami 3lb. Just like the favor of Italian salami.
