Nice to see the sandwich cooking
Although these are intended for cooking burgers, we bought them to make "mountain pies." Having long experience with the solid cast-iron version, we were suspicious and left them sitting for 6 weeks, uncertain if we'd like using them. The answer is: yes. We like them very much. The hardest thing about making mountain pies is that you can't tell when they're burning. Since the Coghlan has open strips along either side, you can see the bread toasting up nicely--and the sandwich takes on a nice panini-like texture. We are very pleased. The one down side is that the hook mechanism isn't quite as "long" as our old set, so you have to work a little harder to get them to hook together. But that's a minor thing.

Good broiler. Not a pie/grilled cheese maker.
The business end is cast iron and made well. The handles and metal rods running thru them to the broiler are light. But we’ll see. May hold up well, especially for the price. Also, remember it’s a broiler. It has vents. It’s great for burgers and such but not grilled cheese sandwiches. Same company make a totally enclosed one for that and it will make pies and such too. Overall this is a good product especially for the price. :)

Used to have these when children were young
I gave these as a gift so I can't give it an honest review but I liked what I saw and think they would work just find. Used similar of these when children were young and we used to take them camping. Fun thing to have.

Best burgers ever!
This thing makes the best tasting and juiciest burgers you’ve ever had!I actually bought it on accident, I didn’t realize it had slats and wasn’t solid, butI ordered the double after trying this one!

it's final resting place b4 the dump takes it away
Not very practical, fall apart easy making it difficult to use, the burger stuck to it so he used cooking spray and it stuck to it much much worse. Never cooked the burgers all the way and because it's round it was hard to set on the fire to cookCaused a lot of chaos more than anythingBurger all of the ground because he had to scrape it off and we were in bear territory camping :/
