3M Scotch ATG 700 Adhesive Applicator, 1/2 in and 3/4 in wide rolls, Yellow

Worth every Penney. I worried I was being foolish getting this but I am so glad I did. It operates smoothly, no wasted tape. Excellent product.

So easy to use. Great on the hand and works wonders. I would recommend this above the rest and I have tried a lot.

Works as expected. I bought this ATG 700 to replace the Advance Tape Glider I had used for many years. If you want to use 1/4 “ tape an adapter is required. The 1/2” tape is more expensive.

I received this 3M applicator a couple days ago and have already used it to attach backing paper to two framed paintings. Worked like a charm. No problems at all with tape getting fouled. Those who mentioned this probably didn't follow the very clear instructions on how to load the tape into the applicator, which is really easy to do. Applicator construction seems reasonably solid; certainly enough for what it's designed to do. I like the fact that it's adjustable for 1/2" and 3/4" wide tapes. And there is a spacer that's easy to remove or add that is needed for the 1/2" tape. Design is great. If you're mounting paper to the backs of framed pictures I'd recommend also the Logan Dust Cover Trimmer. It makes trimming the paper edges a snap.

Best bang for the Buck. I have use this particular model for well over 20 years as a professional picture framer. And I have only worn out one and I use them daily. I like this particular model better than I do the other designs. Maybe it’s because it was the first model that I used for ATG Guns. I recommend them highly. As with any ATG gun, you need to work a technique up in using them. Also, for a first time user, it might be a bit frustrating to thread your ATG but once you get it down, you have no problem. If purging out, you have a hard time getting it started just go to a local frame shop and have a framer show you how to do it.

As a DIY Bride I decided to make my own wedding invitations. I originally bought those little dispensers sold at the local craft stores to paste a backing and my invitation cardstock into a pocketfold. BIG MISTAKE! After completing close to 70 invitations which took me hours I was horrified to see that the cardstock was not sticking to the pocketfold and all the invitations were falling apart. I was trying to "save" money with those little dispensers. I wish I would have originally bought this dispenser, the one that the manufacturer of my invitation paper recommends. This dispenser is not cheap by any means but is is well worth it. As I write this I am re-doing all the invitations I had done before and they are sticking like a dream. It is so easy to use and I found a video online that shows you how to load the tape. Do not waste your time with those little dispensers if you are working with high quality and heavy cardstock. This dispenser has been a God send for me.

I attempted to use ATG tape without a dispenser, and it was an ugly, tedious process. Once I bought this dispenser it upped my game to fast, efficient, and accurate taping. This one works well and is easy to use.

I was bought a similar version of this glue applicator in pink a few months ago after hinting like mad that I had seen one on some American you tube videos, I haven’t seen these for sale at any other UK outlet but they may be out there and I just couldn’t find them. My first one arrived in April and I have been using it daily ever since. I wish I had it last year when making wedding invitations, I went through over ten of those small glue applicators and at least 2 of them broke immediately. When I spotted this yellow version it had a lower price than the pink one and it also happened to be prime day so I snapped it up as a spare. This one does not come with the Scotch glue reels but these are also available to order on Amazon and I found them under Scotch ATG tapes. Although the tapes seem to be a bigger initial outlay than the cheaper hand versions it has taken me 3 months of reasonable use to finish my first roll, 3 metres really does go a long way. The gun itself is pretty big, it is 19 cm long by 24 cm high, I think it is pretty straightforward to load, there are instructions in the box and there is only 1 button to press which allows you to forward the reel on and 1 small piece to detach from the rear spool., I am sure that will become clear if you have one in front of you. I would not be without my machines now, I have used them for photo albums, scrapbooking, card making and wrapping presents. A fantastic piece of equipment.
