Takes a little time to hard wire it in but vey happy with both the light output and how it looks. I had an after market license frame which had to be replaced with one that was totally flat on top. It needs to be installed on a flat surface.

If you need more light, this is an option. It may be the only option if you have factory LED backup lights and no tow package. If you have back up bulbs, there are brands that make bright LED replacements. If you have factory LED back up bulbs, you will need a solution like this. Its bright, but no too bright. You may want to mount at the bottom of the plate to prevent washout if you have a backup camera just above the plate. The wire is small, and I was able to drill a hole in one of my license plate light holders to access the trunk without drilling through the body. Out of caution, I used a wire from the battery/fusebox to a relay to provide the 2 amps of power because I have factory LED backup lights and it could be a low amp circuit. Relays only draw 250 milliamps. If you have regular bulbs, this won't be a concern. An extra 2 amps won't matter and if you change those bulbs to LED too, it will be less current draw than two incandescent bulbs.

It was designed to mount using the upper license plate hardware but I have a camera there. So I mounted it to the bottom of the plate. I already had existing wiring, so it was easy to install. It turned out to be brighter than I thought it would be. You can see the house across the street. We will see how durable it will be over time.

When it worked, it worked great, but don't expect customer service to be of any help when it fails.Mine worked for less then a year before some of the LEDs burnt out. I emailed the manufacturer on November 2nd, 2024, using their [email protected] email. They responded two days later, telling me to email [email protected] since it was an Amazon order. I emailed them as instructed, and to this day, have not received a reply from that email.I then went back to the support email ~3.5 weeks later and told them I wasn't getting a response. They indicated they would reach out to the lead, who eventually emailed me on December 10th. He asked for an image of the product as well as an address to ship a replacement to. I responded on the same day with an attached picture of the defective item as well as my address. As of today, January 4th 2025, I haven't received any followup from him at all. No instructions, no requests, no communication whatsoever. Additionally, I haven't received anything in my spam box related to this request - I check it every day.I'm not sure why they're giving me the cold shoulder. But I do know that I've been more than patient with them, far more than can reasonably be expected.

I received my light bar today. I am waiting for my factory connectors to give this install a factory fit and finish.I read the complaints about the led lifespan, and still purchased it. But there is a 5 year warranty, just hoping I do not need it. I’ll update if these product fails to meet itsexpectations.My unit came with the Morimoto logo, so it appears to be upgraded as Morimoto is known for really good quality lighting products.

These LED lamps are very bright(as advertised). Install correctly may not be easy. DIYers can do it. No instructions included. For the 2016 Chevrolet Impala, I had to run wire from the trunk lid center to the driver's side, down the hinge, under the fabric and to the rear tail light. This required lots of panel removal and replace. I bought tamper proof screws for the license plate (84.00). The original license plate screws were too large for the LED frame.

This is the 2nd XTR LP I've installed and they work really well especially for the 2024 Silverado 2500 which needs some extra light in reverse without cab lights on. It's worth the extra time to solder the wire connections. Also note some license plate holders will not work. Two thumbs up.
