A must have for Donna Summer fans

I received This Collection on time, Great and Neat Package, great sound, I think the whole package is Awesome, it contains 33 cds and a beautiful booklet with Covers of Donna's Albums. Missing some songs that should be included here and exchanged for the ones from Love To Love You Donna. Songs such as Black Power, If You Walking Alone, Can't Understand, How I Feel, Sally Goes Round The Roses, French and Spanish versions of Whenever There is Love, The Power Of One, If there is Music There, Nobody, When I Look Up, Take Heart, A Whole New World and Netherlands. I'm Very Happy Getting This Collection. I highly Recommend it.

Encore is a must have for any die hard Summer fan its everything of Donna the great the wonderful and even the Meh... but to be a fan you find something to love with every release I know I have the only thing that piss me off is this box set was not done state side but that is ok cause what is here is great and I love the hardback book with it

This Limited Edition Box Set is one of a kind, I got mine yesterday and have to say that I am amazed, Just listened to "Lady Of The Night" CD. I loved it, Donna had one amazing unique voice, This is highly recommended for any Donna Summer Fan, It's pricey but so worth it, Get yours soon, This is limited.

This box set is everything and more worth every penny all songs you can think of it's on here I'm so glad a record company made it possible to have all cds on one set

"Encore" aims to be a definitive collection of Donna Summer's recording career including not only all of her studio and live albums but songs that were only released as singles or were on soundtracks, compilations or albums by other artists. Quite a few songs are missing which becomes quite apparent when reading the slim book which is included with the set: Dave Koz recounts recording "A Whole New World" with Summer but that song is not included here.There are two discs of 7" singles but there are some shocking omissions: "Spring Affair", "No More Tears [Enough Is Enough]" (which went to #1 on the charts) and "Last Dance" (which included different vocals from the album version) are all missing. The singles are also not in chronological order. Several discs feature 12" extended single versions but again there are several omissions: "Heaven Knows" and "Walk Away" aren't included but a 12" version of "Could It Be Magic" which is the same as the album version is.All five of Summer's two-LP albums (including "I'm a Rainbow") are spread over two CDs though they would fit (and have in previous issues) onto one disc, this requires the listener to either use a CD changer (if they own one) or change discs halfway through the album. "Live and More Encore" is one album which would have benefited from being on two discs: as originally issued the CD omitted several songs from Summer's Hammerstein Ballroom performance, those songs were later included on "Playlist" which deleted the studio recordings found on "Live and More Encore". The producers of this compilation could have released the entire concert along with the studio recorded songs but chose not to.With all the omissions in this collection I'm surprised the producers chose instead to include several recent remixes by various DJs including one which is notable for featuring another singer's vocals in place of Donna Summer!The artwork is good, not great: album cover photos are cropped and some images (especially "A Love Trilogy") are not as clear as they have been on previous issues. "Live and More" is a tri-fold however it lacks the silhouette cut of the original. "On The Radio" is a gatefold (the original LP wasn't) but includes a rather generic background image instead of the poster which was included with the LP (and was featured in the gatefold on the Japanese SHM-CD issue). "Bad Girls" is it's original shade of blue, not the deeper shade that was photo-shopped for the "Deluxe" issue. The original inner sleeve artwork has been reproduced on those albums which had it; the others have new inner sleeve artwork based on the albums outer sleeve artwork.The book included is rather slim and contains a twelve page essay on Summer's career, a forward by Summer's longtime producer Giorgio Moroder and blurbs by collaborators and admirers. It also includes the cover photos and track listings for each of the albums - this is redundant. I would have much preferred if the book (which is approximately 12" square) featured each of the original album covers on a full page.If you already own Summer's albums on CD (especially if you own the SHM-CD issues of the Casablanca releases and the Crimson deluxe issues of the later releases) this collection is superfluous.

I'm in love with this boxset! Has everything you could want (but not The Deep soundtrack).

Reçu ce fabuleux coffret anthologie de 33cd et vraiment je suis très très heureux.Je l’ai réceptionné en parfait état et merci à Amazon d’apporter autant de soin aux emballages des produits pour ne pas qu’ils s’abîment. J’avais lu dans les commentaires que certains cd ne passaient pas sur les lecteurs cd et c’est le cas en ce qui me concerne. Pas la totalité mais certains cd ne peuvent être lus par mon lecteur cd très récent et d’excellente qualité ( DENON ). Mais comme je peux les lire sur mon lecteur Blu-ray avec un son optimal et bien j’ai gardé ce coffret car vraiment c’est SUBLIME. Toutes les personnes qui aiment Donna Summer devraient posséder ce coffret exceptionnel.

Finalmente la discografia completa, più vari bonus, di Donna Summer regina della disco music. L'opera comprende, in formato CD, tutti i suoi album in studio e live, oltre ai suoi brani più famosi realizzati in varie versioni. Un must per tutti i fans della regina della disco music.
