So far so good
Bought this skateboard for my 8 year old daughter a couple of months ago. She's been asking for a skateboard since she was about 4. I always thought they were unsafe, but one day she came from a friend's house and said that she would definitely want one now. I've done a quick research and settled on INDY. I am no expert on skateboards as I never had one as a child, but I am a bit old fashioned in the way that I like quality products and totally avoid cheap and nasty things. I also encourage my daughter and her friends to do more activities outside, playing ball games, badminton, skipping and so on. In my view it is a good quality beginner skateboard, although it'll not take weight of a heavy person. I encourage my daughter to take it to the park with us every time we go and use it on slightly declining paths. If they are a bit too steep, I stand at the bottom and catch her. She also loves going down on it sitting down. On the way back home she sits on it and holds on to one end of the bag (full of other sports equipment that we take with us: skipping ropes and balls, tennis raquettes, etc) and I either pull her or slow her down with it. Because none of her girl friends are into sports, we watched some youtube videos for basic skateboard training. It help to get her started. The board is behaving very well, looks and feels nice and I am very pleased we've got it and my daughter is developing a new skill. Nice addition to our sports bag.

Brilliant alternative to a Penny!
I bought this board after seeing Penny boards, but not being able to afford a Penny, I looked for another board that was similar.I got the purple one and it's very vibrant. It rides incredibly smoothly. I used this board loads last summer and I will again this summer. Most Penny copies are bad quality and have very bad trucks, but this has great trucks and carves very nicely. My only complaint is that when I got it out of the garage to ride it a couple of days ago I saw that the pivot cup on the front had nearly disintegrated and the back one was split in some parts (those who don't know what they are - they're a small rubber cup that goes in a hole in the truck base and a spike from the hanger goes in it and it springs back to its straight position). They are usually made of rubber but the Indy's are made of plastic, so I will have to go to my local skate shop and replace them, but that's a fairly cheap job. Other than that I love it. It has abec7 bearings, the same as a Penny, and it goes very fast. The spare wheels are a real bonus too.By George (11)

First Skateboard, not disappointed!
I ordered my Indy on the 27th. The delivery estimate was between the 3rd and the 5th. Well it arrived at minimum 4 days early! It arrived on the 30th morning by TNT. The packaging was satisfying and there was no cosmetic damage to it. I ordered the Peng Purple and was very happy with the color of the board when I saw it. It took me a bit to get the hang of it. But after the first day I can easily ride it. The extra wheels were a delight as they were the clear ones. The Pros:-- The colours in the picture on Amazon are pretty accurate.- The board is definitely a good one for beginners.- Extra wheels a plus since I can see my stock wheels wearing out soon.- You can't go wrong for £40.The Cons:-- The board does flex during rides.-You can outgrow the board as it is small.- Not good for big people.- It's only for people under 80 KGs.-It's primarily for people with smaller get. That's my review in conclusion:-The Indy Skateboard is a very nice skateboard at a very nice price range and is a lot more pocket friendly then a Penny Board for example which exceeds £80 usually. So if you're on a budget, a beginner, under 80 KGs, and don't have large feet you can't go wrong! So go grab yours at Indy Skateboards Retro Cruiser 70s Style Skateboard + FREE SET OF EXTRA WHEELS- 4 Colours (Vintage 70s Penny Globe Bantam Style)

Runs great, after some fixing.
Product came fast and with a nice boxing. Extra stickers and wheel was a real bonus! The "mini longboard" does what it does. Its small board make it lightweight to carry and agile in city enviroments. Rolls great on smooth surfaces and can be ridden on bumpy tarmac in parkways and so on if you have the balance for it!But the skateboard, because of its price, is just okay. The wheels barely spins if you spin it by your hand. I had too loosen the wheels on all 4, as a first timer, learning to ride for the really first time ever even i knew that i had to loosen the wheels. After this the board rolls much better but it is really not recommended cause the board starts to wobble even more than it does because of its tiny surface. But i learned to skate with this and i have yet to fall off it! I have ridden this for about 3 months, now and then. I have not done any changes other than loosening the wheels and its holding up great, for a first timer, the price and lightweight makes this a great buy!

Great, but... could be better.
Arrived in the post one hour ago. Just got back from my first ride with it.The ride:I instantly noticed the vibration common with small hard wheels which i didn't enjoy. And that the wheels didn't spin as freely as my longboard wheels making me have to push more often.I would say that they could have fitted the board with softer wheels for a better cruising experience. The trucks where pre-tightened nicely and had me carving down the pavement without loosing control. The Specs:The bearings are OK. Even though they say abec7 they do not spin as freely as I hoped for. The board is light and well made. The wheels are strong but too hard for a small cruiser.Delivery: Very good, long before I expected it, packaged well. Conclusion: I would say for a first skateboard its perfect, or if your looking for something to play around on its great, but for me the experience could have been better. Although Iv been skating for over 15 years so the indy board is up against strong competition I will be buying softer wheels and better bearings.
