While a normal ladder might be a little bit too heavy for a teenager or a lady, these easy gliding rollers designed for ladders help you glide the ladder left or right with minimal effort
- The clearance between the base of the shelf and the tip of the bottom of the ladder depends on the length of the ladder, which becomes the hypotenuse of the right triangle formed by the wall of shelves, the ladder itself and the floor between the base of the ladder and the wall of shelves. Using the Pythagorean Theorem you can solve for the distance you seek

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does the rail have a weight limit?**
A: Honestly, the weight limit issue is not relevant to the rail itself- it is a rectangular steel bar that would be quite resistant to bending in the flat plane. The important issue is fastening the rail to the wall- the lag screws should all be used, and fastened into solid wood substrate.  The rail itself, if properly affixed to the wall, would hold several hundred pounds.  But, in my opinion, the rollers that hook onto the rail are badly designed with insufficient depth to do a good job of staying on the rail.  The rail itself is a lot more robust than is the connection between the rollers and the rail.

**Q: Where do I purchase the ladder?**
A: I went to an antique store and bought one in great condition.

**Q: What colors do they come in**
A: Dear Customer, thank you for asking.
The hardware kit is black. Powder coated.

**Q: Can the ladder be straight upright or does it have to go at an angle? How far out will the ladder be if it’s at an angle?**
A: It could be upright, but I don't recommend it.   The angle is about 10-15 degrees (nearly upright)
