Works great!
I got this to replace a 40 year-old Mity Vac that couldn't be taken apart and serviced. This one works great, pulls a good vacuum and holds it. It's even easy to take apart and clean, which I had to do because I accidentally connected it to the wrong fitting and sucked a bunch of brake fluid into it. Doh! But no worries. A few screws and it was apart, all cleaned up, relubed with silicone and is ready to go again.

Horrible quality, high price.
Cheap garbage. I waited all day for this tool to hopefully bleed the air that I can't seem to get out of my brakes. It shows up, and I try to use it but can't, because the cheap garbage plastic tools from "performance tools" dont go through any kind of quality control. The plastic locking tabs on the lid with the hose ports, never got cut to receive the tabs from the jar. So the lid can not screw on. The thing that irritates me the most, this cheap flimsy p.o.s. should seriously cost 5 dollars but no,I paid over $35 for it after tax!! The discount tool store initialed (H.F.) wouldnt even sell garbage like this!! What a joke this is becoming. This is the quality of 2025 huh? And you get ripped off for it too. I guess it's my fault. I thought a "performance tool" might actually let me do 1 car before it broke. But no, didn't even make it past the assemble stage. Needless to say, I am getting a refund and would urge you to go get the one that is cheaper from that discount tool store because I gaurantee it's better than this!

Leaked out of the box; had to replace O rings on gauge to use
I needed to check the distributor vacuum advance for my 1959 Nash before I assembled and re-installed the distributor. I have several old spare parts and wanted to try to find one that would work. All 4 pulled in with vacuum but also leaked out in a few seconds. It didn't make sense that they were all failing at exactly the same rate so I checked the vacuum pump without a hose or connector. It showed the same leak down rate. It turns out that there are two O rings on the stem of the vacuum gauge but there are too small a cross section diameter to seal up reliably. I put in a couple .010" cross section diameter O rings with a little silicone grease to seat them. The pump is working fine for now and does not leak down. This probably would not matter if you just need to bleed brakes. If you use it to test vacuum as the description says you can, that slight leak makes diagnostics impossible. After fixing the pump I found 2 of the 4 vacuum advances are working fine. One is scrap and one has a very slight leak. In general I do not like to repair or re-engineer things I buy new but this was a quick and easy fix that enabled me to get my car back together this weekend.
