Treat Your Own Hip [McKenzie, Robin, Watson, Grant, Lindsay, Robert Linsday] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Treat Your Own Hip Review: One of the most logical & effective books on treating hip pain - As a physical therapist myself, it’s important to me that patients are given resources that not only help them to become self-reliant, but tools that actually make them better. There are many tools available in the industry (exercises, modalities, etc.) but not all of these are created equal. Not by a long shot. Robin McKenzie is one of a pipeline of talented clinicians from New Zealand that through the rich history of NZ physiotherapy (beginning with the arrival of European physio, Kaltenborn) and the clinical experience of treating hundreds of patients and developing an accurate sense for pattern recognition, have created a system/method for treating major musculoskeletal injuries without the use or need for drugs, surgery, or the reliance on other healthcare professionals. Treat Your Own Hip gives the reader an opportunity to assess and treat his or her own hip pain. The language is concise and the book is fully illustrated, making this guide user friendly and ready to implement from day one. Review: Really helped my arthritic hip! - Started doing the exercises in the book and after a week my hip felt so much better! I've been doing various exercises but none seemed to help. These are amazing!

One of the most logical & effective books on treating hip pain
As a physical therapist myself, it’s important to me that patients are given resources that not only help them to become self-reliant, but tools that actually make them better. A book for the sedentary
Well written book that gives healthy exercise and lifestyle advice. I did not find the information ground breaking for me however because I am active, stretch, eat healthy, etc. This book is intended for the elderly or someone who is in pain from a sedentary, first world lifestyle. The best advice I got from this book is to never stay stationary for too long (i.e. sitting, standing, crouching, squatting, etc.). The tips for this specific subject has helped me reduce hip pain through out the day. It may be hard to justify $10 for such a simple book but it's better than spending over $200 for one week of physical therapy where you will be told the same advice your first week.

Great consumer version of Robin McKenzie’s brilliance
Plain discussion with easy to understand exercises and great visual aids. A quick read, a can’t miss protocol for those who have been intimidated in the past.

Help Yourself
I'm the kind of person who doesn't run to the doctor for every little ailment I have, and this whole series of books is great. If you are disciplined enough to do the work, there are practical exercises to help you, and they really worked for me! There are also books on healing your own neck, back, etc.

MUST READ!!
I've learned more in 2 hours of reading this book than I learned in 5 months of PT at Kaiser...Read the book, start the exercises, and practice the Do's and Don'ts and you will feel better quickly. The goal of the Author is to educate you so you can help yourself. Great info that is easy to understand. All the exercises have photographs so they are easy to follow. Quite simply put, this is a must read. I am going to order the other McKenzie Method books for my back, neck, and knees. I am 64 now and find new sore spots all the time. You will not be disappointed with these books. Let the healing begin.

Emphasis on self-diagnosis and self-treatment
Explains why pain happens. Not just a collection of exercises. Shows how to distinguish between hip pain caused by back problems and hip problems. Short -- only 88 pages. Clearly written, but best approached in short sessions. Kindle readers -- font size is NOT adjustable. Type is small on my HD10. Need reading Glasses. However, the formatting is fine; type is clear. Pictures and diagrams are fine. Highlighting does work. You might prefer a paperback if you don't like small type. Amazon samples are useless. Shows author credentials but no intro material or table of contents. No way to judge the product.

Written in very simple and clear English Almost too simple. The method is based on four main exercises with progresions I am sad to say they have made virtually no difference to an on going problem .There again it may work for you
