If you’re new to chemical exfoliation, this is actually a good product and strength to start with. **However — do NOT leave it on longer than 45 seconds to 1 minute.** Seriously. Leaving it on too long is how people end up with burns and then blame the product instead of realizing they didn’t understand how chemical peels work. It’s really simple to use: 1. Wash your face and let it dry completely. 2. Apply a healing ointment to sensitive areas — around the eyes, corners of the nose, and around the mouth. 3. Have cool water ready with a little baking soda or vinegar mixed in, plus a soft towel nearby so you can neutralize it immediately if needed. As soon as you start to feel a strong burning sensation, gently wipe it off with the cool water and towel. If you’re a beginner, **don’t apply it to your whole face at once.** Start small. Use a brush and apply it to just your forehead first. When it starts to tingle/burn, wait about 30–35 seconds, then wipe it off. Work in small sections like that until your skin builds tolerance. After about 5–10 sessions, you can slowly increase the time — and I mean by **seconds, not minutes.** For example, go from 45 seconds to 55 seconds. Wait 2–3 weeks between sessions, and only increase by 5–10 seconds at a time. Do NOT leave it on for 3–5 minutes your first time unless you’re trying to seriously damage your skin. Chemical peels are effective, but they’re not something you rush.

I have to take testosterone for my HRT which gives me terrible cysts all over my face. They hurt so bad. I used this once for about 20 seconds (the 50%) and it killed them all! I have no idea how it worked so fast. Only thing is my skin is dry now but that’s easier to treat and fix.

I am MALE, but very conscious of my skin and finally ordered Perfect Image after using a product with Glycolic Acid (only 8%) and being happy with the results that the small concentration of Glycolic Acid within a lotion gave me. I started with Level 1 and quickly moved up to Level 2 after very carefully following all directions contained with the products. I've noticed a change with my skin within 2-3 days after first using the Level 1 product. After going through 2-3 procedures with the Level 2 product, I've noticed a slight decrease in uneven skin pigment and dark spots/colors on my forehead from sun exposure as a teen ager. Skin moisture and elasticity were also increased. A Glycolic acid peel is a very common entry-level peel that is tolerable by almost all people. I plan on moving up to Lactic Acid and/or TCA peels that Perfect image also offers after I'm finished with the Level 2 bottle. This should help even more with wrinkle and pigment/discoloration that have been plugging my face for years. Some important tips when using this product: - Follow the directions and documentation with the product! It is a wealth of information and Perfect Image makes it clear they want you to succeed when using it as well as making sure your experience is successful. - Be very gentle with your skin the first 3-5 days after application of this product. Do not SCRUB, rough-up or use harsh cleansers on your skin. Gently pat dry your skin and use a mild, high quality face soap for those first few days after the application. - Use a good quality moisturizer on your face for the the first few days as well. You won't "peel" in the literal sense but you will notice "flakes" (almost like dandruff) that fall off onto your clothes and may gather up on areas of your face. - For those who know they are sensitive skin users, definitely purchase a lotion with Glycolic acid in it (10% of less). This will greatly decrease any possible sensitivity when starting with Level1 on this product since your skin will have a chance to acclimate to it.

This is amazing. I have dark brown skin, with years of neglected hyperpigmentation around my chin and cheeks, and in my large pores making them look deeper than they actually are. I used this and kept it on for two minutes, then rinsed it off with cold water, then let my skin breathe for about an hour with just spritzes of organic aloe vera juice, before gently massaging on vitamin e oil. Yes, it hurt omg this was making me tear up, but that's the price to get a layer of dead skin off. I read that after 30's it can take double the time (about 60 days) for face skin to fully renew itself, so I used this to help speed up that process, and give my other serums and moisturizers a chance to work faster. It took about two days for the redness to go down and I kept the vitamin e and aloe vera juice in a spritzer bottle handy and it worked well. Also use strong sunscreen, I love Black Girl Sunscreen for all types and shades of skin, because of the excellent ingredients and how it fades quickly. Everyone can use it. This product is excellent.
