Have you ever wished that you could play a nice game of chess with more than just one other person at a time? It’s a great idea for groups of friends or even young families. Imagine being able to play chess against your spouse and your child at the same time. It’s a great way to introduce your child to the game of chess at a young age too, and if you have more than one kid, you can take on them both simultaneously! The Wooden 3 Player Chess Set is made of high quality, high contrast wood in red, white, and black. The hexagonal board folds in half and latches, providing three separate, padded storage compartments for each of the three sets of pieces. Handmade from some lovely woods and about half a yard wide, this board will add a definite “Wow!” factor to any sitting room, which is all to the good even if you don’t actually play that well.

This is a nice board for the money. Quality was not super impressive, but decent for the price.

It’s a good chess board and an interesting conversation piece but the rules for the game need better definition as there are too many variants. Personally I think the default rules of free for all don’t work well as trades leave 2 people short and 1 person up. Instead we prefer a play style where you must checkmate the player before you in turn order. So if you play white, black, red then white wants to checkmate red and wants to protect black from being checkmated by red - Black wants to checkmate white and prevent white from being captured by red - and finally red want to capture black and wants to protect white. In this method no longer do you get 2 people ganging up on one player, instead there is a push for balance at all times.

This game is not as hard as one would think. I play chess maybe 20 times a year. My friends and I picked it up easily and had a great time playing this thing. Way better to play it in physical form than digital. It's beautiful and well made.

I bought the 11in board and I felt it was really small for its price. None the less it is an excellent board. However, this 18in board is exactly what I was looking for. Something much larger given the uniqueness of the chess set. I will be playing with my son and my father. A very special moment for the holidays. This is an excellent gift idea for the true chess lover.

The set is very nice -- feels solid, stylish, classic look. Just note, if you are getting it as a gift, that some colorblind people will not be able to distinguish between the red/burgandy and brown/black pieces. We got it for my son's 8th birthday and when we checked the pieces before wrapping it, my husband said "why are there two sets of black pieces?" Couldn't see the red shade as red at all. My son opened it on his birthday and said the exact same thing - the red and black are totally indistinguishable to him. We are playing it with silver twisty ties around the red pieces to distinguish. We may paint them later. Both my guys have mild-moderate colorblindness. Something to keep in mind!

Our grandson wanted a 3-Player chess board for his birthday. We received it in quickly, and it was a very nice board & pieces. He was very happy to with it.
