Staples Dexley Ergonomic Task Chair, Mesh, Ergonomic, Lumbar Support, Adjustable Height, Black

Easy to assemble (did it on my own) and great from the first sit! Breathable yet supportive and firm. I like it better than my chair at the office. Looks like the more expensive office chair, too. Height is perfect for me and there are adjustments available.

Purchased 1 year ago recommended by a family member and recently purchased 6 more. Adjustable head and back support, high quality mesh is not too hard or soft, not too difficult to assemble but requires a bit of effort. Purchased on sale but worth the money either way.

Not too difficult to assemble with all of the parts nicely labeled. It is heavy though, and there's one place where you're going to. Probably need the second person's assistance or to flip it upside down and prop it on a couch. The lumbar support is nice as is the adjustable armrests. I'm not particularly tall and the seat pan is sufficiently short that my knees bend at the right place while still supporting my back. We've bought three, one for me, my teenage son and my husband and we've all been satisfied.

Wanted a mesh chair for the modern look and summer heat. So ordered the Dexley. My first thought was to assemble the chair per the instructions with all parts attached. Assembly and instructions are easy. But the resulting configuration wasn't comfortable. How to Make Comfortable 1. It's not obvious but the side arm controller has multiple positions. You can raise and lower the seat. But you can also lock the back into 3 positions or leave unlocked. This made a huge difference in comfort for me when locked into the 2nd or middle position. 2. The lumbar support just doesn't work for the curve of my back, no matter how I adjusted it up or down. Removal isn't in the instructions, but it's easy. Just pull up until it comes out of the slot. The mesh back provices pleanty of support without the lumbar support for me. 3. I originally bolted on the headrest. But removed it after a sore kneck. 4. The seat angle is aggressive (backwards). So I added washers between the base and seat to make the angle less aggressive. It feels more natural now. I may still adjust more by adding more washers, etc. But the chair is comfortable now. For the price I'm happy. I know a traditional padded foam chair may be more comfortable. But then I'd fall asleep working. And padded chairs are hotter. With this mesh chair I can place a fan behind. I have sensitive skin and was surprised the mesh back wasn't scratchy when shirtless. I really do like the modern look of this chair. And it seems stable, sturdy and well built. Very hard to tip over backwards for instance. Maybe harsh to only give 4 starts, but this is for the extra adjustments needed. Even though they were easy to make.

My Staples Hyken had broken after 6 years, so I needed to get a new one. I bought the Tralt Ergonomic chair, which was not fully mesh and had a padded seat, but I eventually returned it after 3 days because it started to bottom out with the cushion and just wasn't as comfortable as my previous Hyken. I went back to Staples to try the Dexley, and it is so comfortable. I am so happy that I decided to go back to this one since I love a fully mesh chair. Would really recommend the lumbar support and how high you sit without it being uncomfortable. If you are short, I would also recommend a footstool.

So far, in the 3 days ive had it, it seems like a very nice chair. It has the lumbar support and the headrest and stuff; all for a decent price, without feeling cheap. My only problem is how the mesh is kinda rubbery a little so it grips onto my clothes, but other than that, i think it's the best chair I've owned. 👍
