RP Minis Stone Stacking Mini Edition Kit, Multi

I’ve been wanting to get into stone stacking (building cairns) for awhile now. Thought this would be a good introduction to this endeavor (meaning inexpensive). Bought one set. I will admit, I wasn’t all that thrilled. More frustrating than anything else. Patience was never one of my virtues. But, I continued on.Eventually, I stopped taking it so seriously. I relaxed & approached it more from a state of curiosity. I became more steady & focused. Instead of getting upset every time the stones toppled over, I just kinda chuckled to myself and looked for a different way to stack. I came up with various “creations”, but knew I could do better with a greater variety of stones. That’s when I decided to buy another set.Now, I can honestly say that I’m having fun! Doing it my own way and not caring if it doesn’t look like the picture on the box is the way to go for me. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll buy more. Maybe. For now I’m perfectly content to work & play with what I’ve got.See attached photos for examples of what I’ve created so far. Nothing fancy, but they make me smile. And, yes, I know, I haven’t added the sand to the trays just yet. Wasn’t sure if I was going to keep these or send them back. And trying to put the sand back into the little baggies didn’t sound like fun. But, let me assure you - these sets are a keeper! Adding the sand just isn’t all that important to me at this time.

We got a rock that was almost impossible to stack but that's apart of the challenge I guess! Perfect for the office

I loved the idea of using this activity for children to explore mindfulness, but the book is just a tiny pamphlet for adults to read, and pebbles themselves are so small and wobbly, not like those pictured in the advertisement. The research info provided in the book can be found online, and you could get a tray and some sand for two dollars, and collect a few pebbles for free.
