Nothing too special.
Terminator Infinity is a good comic. Its just not great. The artwork is pretty interesting (though nothing ground-breaking), but the story seems to just lag behind. Most notably, there are some points in the story that don't make any sense, given what happened in the movies.SPOILERS: Firstly, you find in the first few pages that Kate Connor died before John ever left Crystal Peak. Recall that in movie 3, the terminator sent back to protect the Connors said that it killed John in the future, and then Kate subsequently reprogrammed it and sent it back. This implies that John dies before Kate. I think I may see where they are going with this, as the new terminator villain has the ability to travel through time completely by itself. So perhaps, in later issues, it will try to eliminate John in the bunker and end up inadvertently saving Kate. There are a few other differences as well, but I will not divulge them here.END SPOILERSIt just seems irreverent to cast everything away. I couldn't really care less if they messed with the canon of movie three, but the first two movies are excellent, and should just be left alone, in my humble, geek opinion. There are some things that seem odd, such as how the new terminator sent to protect John displays feelings all the time. It gets angry at will, in stark contrast to the terminators in the films that are stoic even as they throw each other around and get slammed into walls.Aside from that, John Connor spends pretty much the entire book whining about how he didn't want any of this, although he starts to pull it together towards the end of this trade. Once the action truly starts, there are some pretty cool battles that terminator fans will find interesting, such as a raid on an HK re-charging station that is at least somewhat intense.Overall, I was pretty disappointed with this trade paperback. It has some good ideas that will hopefully be fleshed out in issues to come. Other than that, there are discrepancies with the story of the films and just a ton of John Connor being a total wimp. If you love all things terminator like me, I would still recommend this book. If you just like comics in general and aren't particularly fond of terminator, then there are plenty of better alternatives to spend your money on.

Comicbuch
