Early review (Day 2): Arrived quickly and without any damage. Was alarmed at first when I entered the factory code and nothing happened. Maybe I missed that the batteries were not installed (or supplied), but I quickly figured it out. Once I did that, it worked *almost* perfectly.* I hate beeps, so my first modification attempt was to mute the speaker. It didn't work. Turns out the manual is wrong: to mute the beeps, Press 0,P,1; to opt for persistent intrusions into your quiet Zen, no worries - that is the default, unfortunately. But if you really want them, press 0,P,2.Back to the review. Great safe. The lockable internal box is next to useless, but the LED illumination is great. The weight of the safe is reassuring, though if you really want to prevent thieves from carting your safe off to their criminal den, you have to screw it down to the floor, which unfortunately voids the water intrusion warranty. No big deal for me, as I bought this safe to ensure that our valuables are protected when our apartment is shown to strangers. Anyone viewing the property will be with a realtor, and it isn't possible to stow this safe in your pocket without the realtor seeing it, unlike jewelry, cash, and memory cards. So it does exactly what I want it to do.Five stars.

We are SO glad we made this purchase! Perfect for our needs. Great quality! Easy to install the batteries, easy to change the electronic code, just a great safe. The manual is easy to follow and understand. The safe was packed well so it was in great shape when we received it.

Safe is a great size for storing documents or a small amount of valuables. Rated for both heat and water protection (cannot use the lag bolts to secure the safe if you are expecting to maintain the protection from water). Easy to set up two additional combos for access.The unit I received came with a dent in the side, but I attribute that to shipping and not the product itself. Shouldn't affect the unit other than cosmetic, but something to keep in mind if you prefer a pristine unit. The safe is heavy, so shipping company probably doesn't take a ton of care.Overall, a nice unit for the price.

My older 10+yr Sentrysafe was just too small to handle my needs any longer so i started researching larger home safes. Found some decent high end commercial level safes but wasn’t ready to spend $$$. Best value looked like the Sentrysafe 2 cubic foot digital safe. I decided to order the SFW205GQC model. The fire and water protection, plus the overall security features made it a best buy for the money. Shipment was delayed a bit but it finally arrived. Shipping box looked beat up so I was worried about the condition of the safe. Unboxed and found two fairly significant dents. Like several other reviewers, it was quite disappointing to see the damage, but it was not significant enough to go through the headache of returning. The replacement prob would have had damage too. The damage didn't impede the operation of the safe; just cosmetic. Was confusing trying to get the safe opened initially. Instructions for first use were not very helpful. I installed batteries and entered the factory code multiple times but it wouldn't open (and of couse the secondary keys were inside the locked safe). I called customer service to see if they could help. I kept trying the factory code and it eventually opened. No idea why it took 6-8 attempts. Finally opened the safe and set up my personal code. No issues. Was surprised at the weight and inside space. Impressive! Well made safe. Need a handtruck/dolly to move it inside the house to its final location, but easily done, and the weight is a definite plus. Suggest putting some small felt pads on the bottom of the safe to avoid scratching your floor. Loved the provided file slider drawers. The inside light was a plus as well. I also purchased an extra thin sentrysafe drawer which fits perfectly between the two file drawers. The safe is opening as it should so not sure why the initial problem. All is well now. Sentrysafe and Amazon need to improve the packing and shipping process to reduce damage in shipment. Overall, very pleased with the new safe! Would give it 5 stars, but took one off for shipping damage.

This is based on just initial impressions as we received this today. It's well built, despite the locking mechanism being plastic. It's heavy and you will need two people or an appliance truck to move it to the room you want to store it in. It slides easily on carpet, so if you plan to place it in a carpeted area, just be aware of that (either it needs to be concealed or bolted to the floor if you're willing to damage your carpet and okay with the risk of water intrusion).Ours arrived locked with the keys inside. The manual has the master code so just put batteries in the battery box and it will unlock. Note the key is NOT an override lock; it only locks the latch mechanism and prevents the keypad from working. You will need the master code and the key in the unlocked position to open the safe. The safe can store a primary user code and a secondary code (two in total). It has LED lights that can illuminate the interior of the safe and can be programmed to be on or off through the keypad.It comes with a drawer shelf that lifts from the top with a decent space to store stuff inside. You can buy an additional shelf on Amazon if you want it. It comes with a desiccant pack that you should NOT throw away unless you plan to use a larger one. I bought some reusable 100 gm packs on Amazon that are microwavable. Do not store stuff in this safe without desiccant to control the humidity or your stuff may get warped, damaged, or rust.Overall, a great little safe for the house but I suspect it won't be hard for a crook to pry open or slide it away if they have the time. We still plan to keep our very valuable stuff in the bank locker, but this is a nice add for a few things that we keep in the house.Know the limitations before you buy. If you need ultimate home security, then look for a solid steel safe that's >200lbs; but it'll cost you an arm and a leg! We are sticking with the bank.
