I'm notorious for having books scattered all over creation, especially by my bed. A bedside bookcase has been one of those "I'll get to it" items for years now. Well, one day I finally got fed up with moving books from pile to pile and found this on Amazon. I bought two, one for each side of the bed.I wasn't expecting much for $70 each but I liked the layout and the finish so I gambled. Glad I did. These are much more sturdy than I thought. The frames are steel with coated melamine (I think) shelves. The drawer is something like fabric-coated hardboard.Build quality is surprisingly good. You won't fool anyone into thinking it's fine furniture but the fit and finish are good and it's sturdy. I worry about accidentally getting the melamine shelving wet because it will swell but so far it hasn't been a problem. The drawer won't hold much weight but it isn't designed to. I keep a charge cable and a couple of odds and ends in there and it works.I have about 50 lbs. of books on the two top shelves and it hasn't sagged or complained at all. Certainly strong enough for the purpose. The bottom shelf holds a power strip so I can charge my phone, tablet, etc. I also have a node for my WiFi mesh system on one shelf. This keeps it off the floor so I can sweep. There's enough room for all of this plus an alarm clock and a couple of odds and ends.A lot of stuff that used to be on the floor is now on shelves, which is a win. For $70, I've been pleasantly surprised by both the utility and looks of this shelving unit.

Great item using for kids before room wall just a little shorter than expected.

This ladder shelf is sturdy and looks beautiful in my living room.I have searched for ladder shelves and only found ones that were double the cost, much less sturdy and not nearly as well-made. This is probably the best purchase I have ever made on Amazon. I highly recommend it!The instructions were easy to follow. I did make one mistake that was entirely my fault. When assembling the shelf that contains the drawer, make sure that the drill holes on the side boards are in the back. I accidentally had the drill holes in the front and slightly marred the wood by trying to put a screw where there was no drill hole. I was able to disassemble the parts, flip the board to the side with the drill hole and put the screw back in easily. I used brown crayon to cover the marred wood and it looks perfect!Also make sure not to tighten the screws until the end of assembly. This instruction is repeated many times throughout the instruction manual and it is very important to follow this rule!

As far as being sturdy and well worth the money I give this 5 stars. Assembly is a different story. First, the instructions for the drawer said letter B and R for the top and bottom but I received (2) B’s and no R. The list of parts had no letter R listed so I just used both B’s hoping that was a typo. Also the wooden plugs to join the top and bottom prior to screwing them together would not line up no matter how I tried so I couldn’t use any of them. Several of the holes for the screws were not lined up correctly so I had to squeeze them into place in order to avoid making my own holes. I’m guessing if I was able to use the plugs that may of helped that issue. If it wasn’t for that I could of had it built in no time at all because everything else went together great. All in all it’s a great addition to my living room! Looks great and was exactly what I was hoping for!

I love the style,color, & the drawer it has! Even though the side rails are metal, the paint on them matches perfect! Bought one for my Mom also!

Really like the shelf itself but struggled to put it together till my husband looked at it and the instructions had the parts marked wrong!! After that it was ok.

I like the look of this blanket ladder. It looks nice in the room. It was easy to put together and seems durable. The basket was something I wanted due to lack of storage for blankets. It has 3 blankets in it right now.I would have given it 5 stars but the basket bag is not very pleasing. It looks rather inexpensive. I put a chair in front of it to hide it. I do like having a hard cover on it. I've placed magazines on it which seems appropriate for where it is placed in our living room. I do like this product and reccomend it except for odd looking basket.

This product was exactly as described. Issues from other reviews fixed. All parts were labeled well. Assembly was a breeze. Extra screws were included (nice!). Leveling screws in the "back" legs helped to level and stabilize, just like racks should have. But with good news, there's bad news. Packaging was lots of broken Styrofoam so have a shop vac handy to capture the bits and bobs as you unpack. Nothing was broken, but the drawer originally didn't arrive with the box. I notified the seller when I received it on May 30, they replied on May 31 letting me know it would take another 20-30 days to come from China. No big deal, it was only the drawer. I submitted the information they needed on June 1 and prepared to wait. The drawer arrived June 4, 2-3 days not 20-30 days. I guess the seller worked some shipping magic! I love the piece, I'll probably buy another. I've been bitten by the succulent plant bug <wink>

I am really happy with this purchase, so much so that I will likely visit this store and buy more things from there.1. It's functional and very sturdy. It holds a decent amount of weight2. It's good quality. The wood had good finishing and the frame is metal, unlike many products which give you plastic.3. It's not too expensive, so it's value for money. Especially as it has four shelves and a drawer.4. It looks nice, not cheap.My only issue was it was hard to assemble, particularly for someone who doesn't have much experience assembling things. It takes two people to assemble this and you have to read the instructions very very carefully, and even then it took us a few iterations (2.5 hrs). If you are used to assembling things, it wouldn't be hard for you. But for the average person, yes it is.Nevertheless, all the other things trump this one flaw, so I am happy. If you are hesitating between this and another product, buy this!

I didn't measure out the exact specs, I just assumed it was around 6 ft tall. It's not, it's less than 5 ft. Smaller than expected, but it didn't bother me enough to return it.It's very sturdy when put together (no tipping over by the kids) and looks quite nice. The drawer is just a fabric rectangle with a hole in the front - no handle, and can't hold much but papers or lightweight items. So the size and drawer are the drawbacks, but it wins in all other aspects. Quite decent for the price! It's also heavy and has a good weight to it.Putting it together was OK - only needed allen keys which came with the parts. It wasn't the easiest I've put together but not the worst either. Pay attention to the support bars and which side goes in front, and follow the directions by not screwing in too tight until it's all together.I'd recommend someone help you, but if you have no one it's still doable - I just used the foam pieces to help me balance things while I screwed.

Absolutely gorgeous! This shelf comes with very thin Alan Keys and/or screws. Not sure which one was the problem but while assembling, the Alan Keyes would not turn the screws and the screws stripped inside the holes as did the Alan Keyes. One of the keys bent. Due to this, several of the screws on the top & bottom of the drawer were not able to go down all the way into the wood leaving them sticking up and out. When I contacted Amazon they gave me a full refund so I am very appreciative. I do recommend this unit but be cautious if you have small children or animals that might climb on it due to the screws. If you have weak upper body strength you may not be able to put this together properly due to the screws/keys.
