Prong collar has changed our lives!
Boy has this changed our lives! We purchased this prong collar for a 6 month old Great Dane puppy. As you can imagine, Great Danes are very strong. Taking our puppy for walks was a bit of a challenge for many reasons when we first got her. This collar has helped teach her how to walk next to us as a good, well behaved dog. We have also used it to help train her not to jump up at people and a few other things. She is a rather friendly, playful dog. She and her sister hype each other out and love to run and wrestle together. We use this whenever we go anywhere they need to be better behaved. They both get excited to see these collars come out because they know it means we’re most likely going to the dog park or traveling. Our Great Dane is now about 110 lbs and she is well behaved thanks to this prong collar! Everyone from my older father to my 5 year old nephew can walk her with ease. My nephew gets compliments on his control of such a large dog by our neighbors. The only downside I have is an issue on my end. I have carpal tunnel in my right wrist so taking off the prong collar is a bit of a challenge for me. The links are thick, but my GD is patience and hopefully understands it’s a part of the process to take it off. She’s never winced or whined if I struggle.I have since then used prong collars on a husky puppy and a ten year old cocker spaniel. The prong collars have helped train all my dogs and I don’t think I’ll ever stop using them. Before using prong collars, I would get frustrated with my dogs and end up raising my voice at them as if they understood why. I did watch a lot of videos on proper use of prong collars so as to not hurt my dogs, which I highly recommend for new users. We purchased the collar back in August of 2018 and have had no issues with it whatsoever. We have purchased additional links for our dog’s large neck and they have worked out well. We use it several times a week and store it in the garage while not in use. It has not rusted on us. I have recommended this product to other people.

Wow, it REALLY works!
Wow, what a difference! We didn't want to try this collar other than a last resort, but why I'm not even sure. We've been through many things already though. We have a Samoyed, and they are known for pulling but, we can't have that on walks. He was pulling so hard he was choking himself.A little history. We had him in puppy training, flat collar at first. We tried stopping every time he pulled."Oh we stopped, cool I'll just pull pull pull until we go again." Or "Oh we stopped, cool I'll sit, wait we're going again!? PULL PULL PULL!!"We tried turning around each time he pulled."Pull pull pull THIS way, we're turning around! GREAT, PULL PULL PULL THE OTHER WAY!". Or pull sideways constantly trying to sniff things or get at other dogs. It was awful. We tried treats for "heel" and redirecting, wearing him out at the park before a walk; nothing was working. We also tried a 'soft limited slip' also known as a martingale as recommended by the breeder. Didn't matter, he pulled like a mad-man. We tried the Halti. He learned to pull with that too, plus I didn't like how it looked. Samoyeds are very fluffy and it just didn't work out. We also tried the Gentle Leader which despite custom sizing in the chest, really didn't work out. Our dog just learned to LEAN against the pull-around motion and keep at it.It really came to a head when our dog was basically jerking me all over the sidewalk, slamming me into door frames in his haste to exit the house, and making it virtually impossible to hold the leash with one hand and use the other to do ANYTHING, like open the gate at the dog park. After one particularly embarrassing day at the dog park where I got dragged away from the gate a few times, I did some research and bought this collar.Wow, just night and day. The dog doesn't mind getting it put on, and once I got the hang of it, it's not too hard to get on and off. I looked at videos on how to put it on, where the placement should be, and everything to make sure it was done right. Now although he doesn't walk entirely on a 'loose leash' but he's not putting any pressure on the leash, even when he sees another dog. It just took one lunge where he pinched himself in the action to learn. I even did an hour long walk the second day we tried it, where we came up behind a slow walker with 2 tiny dogs, and all my dog did was whine a little bit, but otherwise there was NO pulling, NO lunging, nothing! I can walk the dog using just one arm and not both, and don't have to worry about getting pulled off my feet when trying to pick up dog waste or sparing one hand to get out the water bottle. It's fantastic. The collar itself looks well-made and all the prongs are polished and rounded off. I tried it myself on a leg and it's not bad at all. We're hoping that a little time with this, combined with a little more maturity for the dog, we can go back to a regular collar, but in the mean time the walks are both way more enjoyable, and longer distances aren't making my arms feel like they are being ripped out of their sockets.

Works Exceptionally Well
I've resisted using pinch collars in the past because they look so nasty / cruel. Decided to give it a try after my neighbor mentioned that she's found these collars to be very "effective". Currently, I have a 65 pound 1 year old Golden Retriever, that is very confident of herself. Prior to using this collar, she would work me over on walks -- jumping on me, pulling me, general nonsense -- it was no fun. Her antics had the potential of creating dangerous situations with cars / people. When people saw us coming, they would cross the street to avoid us, and that just frustrated her more, because she wanted to meet everyone. I tried a harness, and it helped; at least the leash stayed attached to her, but the behavior problems were still there.I've been using this collar for about a month, and it's been just great. Everything is now normal, no nonsense, no pulling -- just good behavior. She doesn't mind the collar, as there's no issue putting it on her before walks. I look at this collar as a self regulating collar -- the dog regulates it. If the dog walks nicely, no prongs. Dogs learn this fast. Now we get along much better, and when we return from walks, we spend some time with treats / training, then 5 minutes of retrieving. Everyone's happy here now. Here's my advice:1) Buy this one -- very good quality, does not come apart, easy to put on.2) Educate yourself prior to using -- GOOGLE pinch collar and view some videos.3) Size it correctly. My Goldens neck measures 17", yet I needed to remove 3 links, to get a secure good fit -- don't want it to be tight or loose -- should be snug.4) Do not slip this collar over the dog's head.5) I find using a 3ft leash gives me more control -- I use Dean Tyler leash.
