Best decision I've ever made
The media could not be loaded. I've always been a person who pulls grills from the side of the road so this was literally the first grill I've ever bought and I wanted it to be special. We have used this smoker every week for making different things like brisket, pulled pork, burgers, ribs I mean you name it we will make it. The excitement that comes from starting the smoker never fails. I love the app it's super reliable and allows me to monitor the grill for my wife to check while I'm at work. I wake up around 5 to get our dinner started and it's usually ready by the time I get home! The probe is a really awesome feature and worth it as you can check the temperature from the app and set an alarm for the probe temp which is very loud lol. I also got a quick temp probe because the probe is about 5 degrees off sometimes just because it's left in the smoker for so many hours. We put it together in about an hour, then we wheeled it into the back yard. It comes with one of those 3 prong computer cable so I bought a 15ft one online with the correct gauge wire just to give a bit of extra length to the cable but I'm thinking of installing an outlet by the smoker.I would suggest to get the pellet checker attachment, the cover, and at least two bags of pellets which I made the mistake of only getting one. I used vittles vault 35lb and it holds two bags of pellets and I got one vault for each type of pellets. I wouldn't suggest the traeger bins as I bought them and they were way too small. I bought a scoop for each vault as well remco 64003 was the scoop. I find the pellets at home Depot but you can also order them online as well. I would highly recommend the cover to protect your investment and a grill tent from Amazon is very easy to put together. I got the master canopy 8x5 for around 128 dollars. Anything to protect the grill is a good idea since this is something you'll want to have for a long time.I'm also thinking about purchasing the extra shelf for the front of the traeger although the grill canopy does come with shelves. I highly suggest this smoker if you like the set it and forget it method. The only down side is that the traditional smoke flavor is less prominent with the pellets but it makes up for the lack of smoke flavor with how incredibly easy it is to make the food. I've toyed with the idea of putting a smoke box inside the smoker with some wood chips but so far I haven't been disappointed in flavor! In conclusion: This smoker will make you want to eat outside and spend time outside, do your best to clean it every time you go through a bag of pellets vacuum it, and take care of it. Protect it like it's your first born child and you won't be disappointed!

Best decision I’ve made
I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting a smoker for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on this Traeger 780 pro smoker. I couldn’t be happier with the decision. This smoker has made some of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and even though I’ve only used it a handful of times so far, everything has been great from ribs, to wings to filet mignon. The Wi-Fi feature is really cool as well. Using the temperature probe on the steaks cooks them exactly how you want your steaks to be done. The free assembly that came with it was great and getting everything set up was pretty simple. It’s just a matter of following recipes after that. I am looking forward to cooking so many other meats and plan on doing a ham for Easter, pulled pork, sausage, and brisket soon. I highly recommend this smoker as it fits a lot of food and does an amazing job.

Makes Smoking/Grilling a Dream
I previously used a vertical propane smoker, which was so much work to regulate temps and constantly add water. A couple of my friends switched to pellet smokers this year from brands like Traeger and Camp Chef, but after asking their opinions the Traeger had a better reputation and features. The choice between the Ironwood and Pro 780 kind of comes down to the super smoke and pellet level options. I couldn't justify the extra expense so I went with the Pro 708 and couldn't be happier. For extra smoke, I bought a $7 pellet tube that enhances smoke for many hours when I need it.The ease of use coupled with the mobile app allows me to smoke from anywhere. We boat and being able to be on the beach and keep an eye on the smoker is an amazing life improvement. All I need to do is jet back after a couple hours, wrap the ribs, and head back knowing that the temps are going to remain spot on for consistent results.I really don't have any negatives other than the somewhat high price and lack of included fold-down front shelf, but the WiFire feature alone is worth it! I am also curious why the plug doesn't have a ground on it considering you are using it outside and it can get wet. I am also concerned if it has some kind of surge protector in it since the electronics are sensitive and would hate to have moisture risk damaging the device. I did buy a cover though, but humidity will always find a way.I highly recommend this if you love to smoke/grill with consistent results and want to be able to just walk away and spend time with friends instead of the distractions of managing the grill.

Caught fire on 2nd use
Owned this for 2 weeks. Preheated to 220. Put the meat on, came back put after 30 minutes to the unit fully shut down. Tried to reboot. Was going through the ignite cycle again. And thr pellets in my hopped started smoking severely without thr pilot being lit.On first use I followed the shut down procedure properly. I keep a cover over the grill. While their honoring the warranty and replacing. I, 1. Have to unassemble the grill I have now.2. Will need to re assemble the new grill when it arrives AGAIN.3. Need to make a run to my local dump woth all the boxes and Styrofoam, again. Since my local trash doesn't take that much cardboard or Styrofoam.4. This mishap wasted a 40$ salmon, 30$ in organic chicken and a 20$ bag of pellets. And the dump will charge me 20$ for entry. So, with the waste of 90 mins assembling the last one, another 90 minutes of unassembley time. Another 90 minutes to assemble the new one. 90 minutes to the dump and back. Thats 6 hours of wasted time and 20$ at the dump, 70$ in food and 20$ wasted in pellets. Total of 110$ wasted... This has been a HORRIBLE experience with my first traeger over the last 2 weeks of ownership.
