We’ve tried the sticky tapes and plastic scratch covers with no success. The sticky tape loses its stickiness in a few days (due to my cat constantly pawing at it) and I can still hear my cat scratching on the plastic covers which protects the door but still wakes me up. These pads have been on my door for about a week now and it’s been great. I wipe it down with some warm water now and then and the hair and dust stuck on it comes right off and it becomes sticky again. The only con is that when removing it, you have to pull with even pressure or it rips.
