High Tech
This is an excellent guide to planning performance increases in the 265-283-327-350 Chevrolet engines. The information is presented in a logical sequence and covers most components of the engine. The technical data is presented concisely and is accompanied by a good many tables, graphs, and photographs. I found the chapter on cylinder heads especially well done and very complete. For those planning a performance rebuild this will book will be invaluable. Keep in mind that the amount of equipment needed to accomplish the example rebuild presented in the book is probably much greater than the average home mechanic has at his/her disposal. There are several helpful tables showing the parts used in the rebuild.

More of a discussion on parts of an engine
Not exactly any thing to do with How to build a killer engine but of parts you could buy and use for an engine. Better books out there

Mostly a glorified sales brochure
Very disappointing. It's about 100 pages of aftermarket part photos and descriptions, all of which will be out of date sooner or later. The last section describes how to spend big $$$ building a dream motor using every trick aftermarket part conceivable. Condense it down and there are about ten pages of how to actually build a "killer" small block. I wish I could get a refund. It was that big of a waste.
