I’ve had another cheaper brand of paper cutter for years. I had to push down hard on the cutter in order to even cut one piece of paper and even then, the cut was rarely precise. My new Carl paper cutter cuts paper with a gentle push of the bland. I just cut 5 pieces of sulphite paper in one swipe like a breeze. I make handmade books so a paper cutter is essential. This came highly recommended by other book makers and now I will number their ranks as a huge fan!

Very well made. Versatile can use various blades and paper guides. Essy to change blades and guides. Large size paper platform facilitates use of many different sizes of paper. I highly recommend this paper cutter.

I am cutting velvet with sticky back and paper. It cuts cleanly.

First of all, the item was sent only in its product box and arrived in rough condition. The product packaging does not appear to be sturdy enough to be used without an outer box. Even if I had received a new item, I feel like there would be a chance for it to arrive damaged.As seen in the picture, the cutting wheel and one of the screws is missing. The trimmer arrived with the other screw properly tightened meaning the cutting wheel did not fall off during shipping. Additionally, the cutting mat has obvious signs of being used before.I also included a photo of the manual that states that the cutting capacity is actually 10 sheets instead of the product page's stated 15. That is significantly less than advertised.This is all very frustrating as I paid for a NEW product and instead received a used one that they didn't even bother to check if it was all there. I was already on a time crunch and now have to deal with returning this and finding a better product from a different manufacturer.

This cutter seems fairly well made, but as others have mentioned, it is a 10 sheet, not a 15 sheet cutter. And it doesn't cut very well: to cut a single sheet of photo-quality paper requires a lot of downward force. The cutter is a rotary knife which runs on a (replaceable) pad, so there is no drawing action (as with a matt knife) or scissor action (as with a conventional paper cutter)--it's purely a downward press. It was not a good solution for me since I wanted it for trimming photos.

I’ve used roller cutters for decades now and they are so much better than your traditional chop cutters. This one is a very small, lightweight light duty cutter that does the job. And if you plan on doing this professionally or have a large amount of work to do, then I would strongly suggest going to a more robust, heavier duty cutter. But for occasional use, this works great!
