I had an electrician add this next to my circuit breaker box for a 50A RV outlet. I is a solid design that works well - it's large enough to cover the RV plug with handle. And you can put a small padlock on it if needed.

Not very easy to install. Small working area. But good waterproofing and does exactly what it’s intended to do.

The box itself is well built and sturdy. Nice durable finish seems like it will hold up well to the elements. The weak link here is the receptacle. Trying to get 6AWG to stay secure is pretty much impossible because of the design of the fasteners. A screw goes right through the middle of the clamping mechanism making it extremely difficult to properly secure the wiring. I finally gave up on it and replaced the receptacle with a better quality Leviton which was a breeze to connect. I’ll echo what others have said about the knockouts. I used a hole saw to drill them out. Overall it’s a nice weatherproof box but be aware of the cheap receptacle that comes with it.

Solid, heavy duty box. Seems well coated and has a nice ball detente holding the door closed.One note: as mentioned by others, the "knock outs" aren't really knock outs, just indentations made when the box is stamped... they need to be drilled out, so don't even try hammering them, and it's tough steel. I used a step drill on a drill press and that worked no problem.

No complaints, all well made, a big plug end of a cord (50amp RV) will fit and able to close the lid. Mounted to concrete with PVC pipe conduit in the side. All worked great.

This is not a good product. Knockouts are not cut knockouts - appears to be just stamped to look like a knockout. You'll need a knockout kit to make your own knockouts. The outlet is cheap. #1 phillips screws are not sufficient to hold down the wire needed. I had to use #6 wire because of the length of the run and had to try to split strands to go on either side of the screw. Ultimately, I purchased another outlet. Hood on device won't stay open. Screws that secure the plate the outlet is on to the box are waay to small. All and all, disappointed...

This works perfectly for charging my Tesla Y with the home link kit. I can imagine why I’d need a Tesla charger as this plug works well on its own. I get approximately 22 miles per hour, and the charger draws about 32Amps

The heavy gauge wire required to be used with this 50amp receptacle and the small fine thread screws are not a good mix. But after getting though all that it works great and is super sturdy..

We got this for our Tesla home charging, which is on the outside of our house. Our electrician friend helped us install the whole thing and he said this box gives no room for installation. Which took him a lot long than usual to install the nema14-50. Other than that, the box is in good quality, water resistant.
