Epic: An Around-the-World Journey through Christian History Paperback – March 31, 2020

This little book is an excellent companion to the video series by the same title. The videos and the book each include details that the other does not, so they are certainly worth watching/reading. The chapters are not long, but they include the most pertinent details concerning the historic artifacts, locations, or events that helped shape the Christian experience and influence through the centuries. The design is beautiful and helps make this book enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I loved this journey around the world to see relics and pieces of history (all tied to the Great Story in some way). The author refers to a filmed documentary that goes along with his book journey, so that's next for me to explore. I would have loved to go with him as he visited all of these amazing places!

I wish the book had followed the order seen in the DVD videos and included all the artifacts seen there. This is a nice book on it's own but could have been so much more. I hope they change that in the next edition.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and learned much about the history of the church and the people who have contributed so much to our faith.

This is such an interesting book! The illustrations and photos are amazing. I love how God has preserved His Word, the Bible, and other evidences of His work in our world. I highly recommend this book.

Wonderful glimpse of God building of His church and the advance of the gospel through history. This is a great read for young and old alike.

In Epic Tim Challies seeks to tell the story of Christianity through different objects and places around the world. This was different than any “theology” book I have ever read before as incorporates sound doctrine, great visuals and even adventure. It helps ground our faith in history and remember the sacrifices others faced to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. It also helps to show how God has worked providentially throughout history (ie. the Roman roads) to bring the gospel to the nations. I could say much more but I would strongly recommend buying this book (the hard copy) and getting the accompanying videos to go along with it.

Through Tim Challies traveling the world to visit objects associated with Christians throughout history, I learnt more about the history of Christianity and Gods work through his people then I ever have before.
