It's not really high security but it does the job for me. It's all plastic (other than the lock which is metal) and a determined thief could easily break the parts. For an open public location it works very well, I had an unsecured laptop stolen so I bought this for the new iPad. It's light and the tilt settings are ideal for what I use it for (reception station at a restaurant).

We needed to make sure our ipad 2 did not disappear at a trade show. We took it with us at night so we were just looking for a low security option and this was reasonably price and worked very well. It came with a couple of liners to get a secure fit. Depending on how you set the back bracket the pad can be horiz, or vertical. Even in horiz. it was stable. The cord was plenty long to wrap around a table leg and still give room to move the ipad around. Plus the cord was not too heavy to cause a weight issue.If you need true security this is not the unit for you as it could easily be snapped and broken off. That is not likely to happen if you are standing there. The only con was in the horizontal position you have only 1 angle (vs 3 in vertical),

We had this same case for a previous much older iPad that we are no longer using. However, we had to destroy the old case in order to get the iPad out as the key stopped working.Anyway, before ordering this case I wasn't completely sure if it fit the newest generation of iPad's. It turns out that it DOES FIT. They supply a plastic adapter piece that is made to fit the newest generation iPad and it fits like a glove. The case looks good and does what it needs to.As for security, as others have mentioned, NO, this case is not unbreakable. YES, someone could steal the device if they really wanted to. This case isn't meant to stand up to torches and the jaws of life. The idea of the case is to deter and delay thieves. If you are looking for an impenetrable case I would suggest just not putting an iPad in that area to begin with.
